St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church September November 12, 17, 2017 St. Rose Angel Tree Christmas will soon be upon us and for many it is a time of blessings, but for some it is also very stressful. Consider helping our St. Rose family and some very needy families from East Milton Elementary by choosing an Angel from our Angel Tree. Our tree will be set up in the vestibule the weekend of November 18/19. Please return your unwrapped gifts the weekend of December 9/10 or drop them off at the parish office before. If you are a registered parishioner who is unable to financially provide Christmas gifts for your children, please contact Crystal at 623-3600 ext. 16 no later than Wednesday, November 15. Praying with the Church An Advent Day of Reflection Saturday, December 2nd from 8 am to 5:30 pm Join us for a day to prayerfully experience the Liturgy of the Hours. Msgr. Michael Reed and Sister Margaret Ann Calcutta will lead us deeper into praying and living the Psalms. Lunch, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Benediction, Confession and Mass will be part of the day. Whether you can stay the whole day, or only part of it, make plans to attend and learn by example to pray as the Church prays. It s a perfect addition to the Psalms study, and praying the Liturgy of the Hours. There is no cost to attend, and you may register on our parish website, at the welcome desk in the vestibule, or at the Parish Office. St. Rose of Lima Christmas Festival December 9th at 5 pm It will be held on our festival grounds behind the church directly after the 4 pm Mass. We are in need of many volunteers this year to make it merry and bright, and we would love your support! If you can assist in any way, please call chairman Marie Field at 791-4382. There are many, many opportunities available. Diocese of Pensacola - Tallahassee Cities for Life St. Rose will be turning on the church lights and ringing the bells for life on Thursday, November 30th at 7:30 pm. Our Diocese will be joining people from 2,000 cities in over 80 countries throughout the world in support of abolishing the death penalty. Pastoral Council Meeting - Update! Mass Intentions for November We remember all deceased loved ones each year during November, and pray for them at every Mass. Please write the name of your loved one on an All Souls envelope located in the vestibule and drop it in the collection basket. All donations will be used to help our seminarians through the Burse Club. The church has a long tradition of remembering those who have died, to the love and mercy of God, on All Souls Day and throughout November. The names of those who have died throughout the year are entered into the Book of the Names of the Dead. If you would like a name entered into the book, please write the names on the All Souls envelope located in the vestibule and place it on the altar. The names will be entered into the book for you. You may also place a donation in the envelope if you wish.
