The Baptism of Jesus Jesus was baptized at age 30. Lk 3:21-23 John felt unworthy to baptize him. Mt 3:13 Jesus was baptized, not because he needed to repent, but to fulfill all righteousness and to identify with us sinners. Mt 3:15 The Holy Spirit came upon him. The Twelve Disciples of Jesus Matthew 10:1 He called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness. 2 These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (who is called Peter) and his brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee, and his brother John; 3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; 4 Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him. THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF CHRIST ON THE CROSS The Lamb of God paid the price to take away the sins of the world. John 1:29 He redeemed (purchased) us with His precious blood. I Peter 1:18-19 He absorbed God s wrath toward us. Gal. 3:13 He satisfied God s righteous demands. Isa 53:11 He tasted death for all believers. Heb.2:9 He gives eternal life to all who believe. Jn 3:16 We are reconciled to God. Rom 5:10 He delivered us from this present evil age. Gal. 1:4 He set an example for us to follow in his steps. I Peter 2:21

THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF CHRIST S RESURRECTION His resurrection fulfilled His promise. Mt 17:22-23, Mk 9:30-32, Lk 9:43-45, Jn 16:20-22 It proved His sacrifice had satisfied God s justice. Rom 4:25 It confirmed the faith of His followers. Mt 28, Mk 16, Lk 24, Jn 20, Acts It confounded His enemies. Mt 28:11-15, Acts 4:10 It overcomes sin, death and the Devil. Col 2:13-15 As the first-fruits of them that slept, it proved that believers, too, will rise. I Co 15:20-23 It was the 1st step of Christ s exaltation. Acts 2:29-36

WHY WERE THE GOSPELS WRITTEN? John 20:30-31 Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. Question: Have you received Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord?
