Geneva Winterfest Pageant January 26, 2019 Geneva High School Tiny Miss Winterfest / Ages 0-3 Junior Miss Winterfest / Ages 10-12 Little Miss Winterfest / Ages 4-6 Miss Winterfest / Ages 13-17 Young Miss Winterfest /Ages 7-9 Pageant will be held at 7:00 p.m. Pageant will be held at 3:00 p.m. Requirements: ***Age is as of January 1, 2019*** Interview (Mandatory 40% of total score): Each candidate will have a personal interview with the panel of judges. Contestants will be asked a variety of questions during their interview. This is meant to be a fun way for the judges to see your personality and to show them why you are the best candidate to be the next Winterfest Queen. Tiny Miss (0-3 contestants) - No interviews will be conducted for this age group. Interviews will be scheduled in the morning on January 26, 2019. You will be informed of your scheduled interviewed time no later than January 22nd. All interviews will be timed and last 3 minutes. Personal Introduction (Mandatory-30% of total score): Each candidate will introduce themselves on stage. As follows: Your name, your age, your grade, the school you attend. You may acknowledge your sponsor briefly by name (no commercials please). DO NOT ADD ANYTHING ELSE TO THIS! YOU WILL LOSE POINTS! Attire for Introductions will be a solid colored shirt (long or short sleeves) with no logos and khaki or black pants. No capris or shorts. Black or brown shoes no sneakers. Tiny Miss Contestants do not introduce themselves. Escorted Formalwear (Mandatory 20% of total score): Formal attire is required. You will be escorted on stage. Your escort can be anyone you choose, your father, brother, uncle, etc. Your escort should be dressed in formal or dress wear (suit & jacket, dress pants and tie). NO JEANS PLEASE! Gowns/dresses may be any color or style including high glitz, and should be age appropriate. You will be judged on your overall appearance, stage presence, and confidence. If you do not have an escort, please let us know. We will provide one for you. Winter/Holiday Fun Wear (Mandatory 10% of total score): Mandatory for Junior and Miss Winterfest divisions. Candidates will model a Winter/Christmas themed outfit of their choice on stage. Your outfit may be custom made or store bought. Judging will be based on creativity of outfit, personality, overall appearance,

and stage presence. NO PROPS. Bio s will be provided to the judges. Music will be played on stage. Bio must be submitted with application. Winter/Holiday Wear: Optional for Tiny, Little, and Young Miss Winterfest divisions. One winner in each age division will be awarded. Candidates will model a Winter/Christmas themed outfit of their choice on stage. Your outfit may be custom made or store bought. Candidate Requirements Candidates may apply to compete within their appropriate age group based on the age of their birthday on January 1, 2019. Candidates in the Miss Winterfest category can be no greater than a junior in high school. Applications will be accepted from candidates who reside in Ashtabula County and/or Madison School District. Candidates who have been awarded a queen title in any particular age group may not complete in that age group again. Candidates may not currently hold a title for any other Ohio Festival and may not compete for any during her reign as Queen/Attendant. All candidates are expected to be of good moral character, in good academic standing, and without discipline issues. Disposition of any issues will be decided on by the Pageant Director based on all information available. Judging: Jr and Miss will be judged on the four mandatory categories of Interview, Personal Introduction, Escorted Formalwear and Winter/Holiday Fun Wear for Queen Titles. Optional photogenic categories will not calculate into the total score. Young and Little Miss will be judged on the three mandatory categories of Interview, Personal Introduction and Escorted Formalwear for Queen Titles. Optional photogenic and Winter/holiday fun wear categories will not calculate into the total score. Tiny Miss will be judged on Escorted Formalwear, personality, and attire. Optional photogenic and Winter/holiday fun wear categories will not calculate into the total score. Candidates should plan on attending a short rehearsal, Wednesda, January 23, 2019 7-9pm at the Geneva High School Auditorium Queen, 1st Attendant, and 2nd Attendant in each division will be expected to purchase a set of magnets for $35 and cape for $50 to be used for appearances. Cape for Miss Winterfest (13-17) will be provided upon crowning (dry cleaned and return at the completion of her reign). Miss Winterfest Queen is required to participate in a minimum of six local parades to include: Geneva Winterfest Parade, Geneva Christmas Parade, Geneva Grape Jamboree Parade, Ashtabula County Covered Bridge Parade, Austinburg Country Days Parade, and the Ashtabula County Fair Parade. Other court members are required to participate in a minimum of three local parades of the above listed. Tiny Miss Court will not participate in parades. All court members will be required to participate in a minimum of three community service projects.

All winners need to plan to attend a mandatory photo shoot at Rapid Photo, Geneva, on January 27, at 11:00 a.m. Deadline for entry is January 18, 2019. Geneva Winterfest 2019 Featured Event Pageant for Candidates with Special Needs Candidate Requirements: Candidates with special needs who are ages 0-17 may register to compete in the pageant annually. Candidates will be judged on personality and attire. All candidates will compete on stage for escorted formalwear. Your escort can be anyone you choose, your father, brother, uncle, etc. Your escort should be dressed in formal or dress wear (suit & jacket, dress pants, and tie.) NO JEANS PLEASE! Entry fee of $25, payable at the time of registration. Pageant will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. immediately after the Tiny, Little, and Young Miss Winterfest competition at Geneva High School. Winners will be awarded with a Winterfest Princess Title. Princesses will be permitted to participate in all community service projects and festival luncheons. They are welcome to represent Winterfest at all festivals with proper assigned attire, sash, and crown. Princesses will not participate in parades. Optional - Photogenic (Open to all divisions): Photo must be a head shot and no larger than 8 x 10. Photos may be color or black and white. Photos will be judged on personality and clarity of the photo. One winner in each age division will be awarded. Photos must be submitted with application.
