Chaska Moravian Church A Word from Rev. Mike Eder NO, NO, NO, NO it can t be NOVEMBER! Hang on, folks it s all downhill from here We ended October with a bang by welcoming 4 new members (Paul & Jane Christopher and Phil Schramm and his son Gabe) on the 18th and closed out the month on the 25th with 97 souls in the sanctuary! I believe it was the highest attended non-holiday Sunday service in the 9 years I ve been here. 9:00am Ages 3 & up November 8, 22 December 6, 20 CMC Joint Boards Board of Elders Rev. Mike Eder Tammy Riesgraf Jill Edwardsen Jennifer Jeremiason Deb Zwart Trustees Kelly Jeremiason Steve Devore Dwight Crisman Vonn Bonnema Chair Vice Chair President Vice President Secretary Paul & Jane Christopher, Phil Schramm Gabe Schramm So, here comes November: Gathering with All Saints at the table for a service of Holy Communion on the first Sunday, stepping out of the way for our annual Moravian Women s Sunday on the 8th, annual Church Council meeting with elections of new trustees and elders and holiday decorating of the church on the 15th, special music with guest musicians for Reign of Christ Sunday on the 22nd, and closing out the month with the first Sunday of Advent! At least we know that things will slow down once we hit December (a double baptism and Holy communion on the 6th) pretty sure there s nothing going on the rest of that month. To an aging preacher, every season that leaves feels like a loss because we cling so tightly to that which we have. Every approaching season seems daunting and dangerous because it is unknown and unpredictable. Yet, every season that I have served this congregation has been a gift and a blessing well beyond what I deserve. I hope that it is the same for those who serve around me, for our vice chair of the Elders, Tammy Riesgraf who has carried me and our worship for the last six years as she finishes her term on the Board of Elders and for Linda Ryski as she passes the baton of lead accompanist off to Rachel Boucher, I offer my heartfelt gratitude to you ladies for the ways you have given yourselves in service. I pray that you have been as blessed as I in your blessing this congregation during my pastorate. In His Service, Pastor Mike

Jan 612-554-0825 or Sara 612-770-7466 CHRISTMAS CONCERT CHURCH COUNCIL NOVEMBER 15 Our annual Church Council meeting will happen near the end of our regular worship service on Sunday November 15, 2015. The Church Council is the governing body of the Chaska Moravian Church. Everyone who is a member of the Church is a voting member of the Church Council. We will elect Church Elders and Trustees for 2016 and pass a 2016 budget. Our Church Constitution states that any business issue of the Church may be brought to the Church Council and that, any new item of business to be considered should be submitted in writing to the Secretary of Church Council prior to the meeting. Recently, we have been incorporating our Church Council meeting into our worship because even though it seems like a business meeting, the business of being church is the same as the business of serving the Lord and therefore an appropriate part of our worship. There will be a brief State of the Church presentation by the current Trustees and our Treasurer Arvin Zwart will present the proposed budget for 2016. Pastor Mike is the Chairperson of the Council and Tammy Riesgraf will serve as Council Secretary. WELCOME NEW MEMBERS! CONCORDIA CHOIR CHRISTMAS CONCERT at Orchestra Hall on December 10th with performances at 6 pm and 8:30 pm.
