Hannah-Grace becomes the first SRCS graduate to have received the Legacy Award in her 5th, 8th and 12th grade years. Congratulations, Hannah-Grace! When a person gives someone a Hawaiian Lei it symbolizes their affection towards the other. It is used to distinguish and honor someone on their special day. Many leis were created specifically for Cole Kinchen. Ribbon leis in both Strong Rock and KSU colors, money leis, his favorite candy leis and Kukui Nut leis. For Cole to give Mr. and Mrs. Mann a Lei symbolizes his sharing of his accomplishment with two very important people. Cole s grandfather was born and raised on Oahu. This tradition has been in their family for many generations. 2

LIGHTHOUSE: Addressing today s issues with Biblical Truth Luke 18:9-14 tells of a parable that Jesus told. He compared a Pharisee and a tax collector. He showed that the Pharisee prayed as if his actions made him righteous or better than another person. This showed a proud arrogant heart. The tax collector was humble and could not even pick up his head to heaven. He asked God to be merciful to him, a sinner. I believe we sometimes confuse the righteousness that is given to us by Christ with actions that we think make us righteous. I have been made right with the Lord only because of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This does not mean all of my actions show it. I fail miserably at times. My actions do not always match my position before the Lord. I must turn from these areas as they are revealed to me. Remember, as a believer, you are in right standing with the Lord. He also desires for each of us to repent and turn from attitudes and behaviors that do not show that we have been rescued from a life of sin. It is my prayer that all of us will draw closer to the Lord over the summer. Have a wonderful summer! Mike Bailey- Biblical Worldview Director Media Guides Do you have a business?
