Carter Christian Church January 6, 2019 Happiness. Ol Snoopy over there never seemed to have a problem finding his happy place, whether it was in his doghouse, his dance, or his outlook on life. But for the rest of us, maybe it isn t always that easy. Did you know God wants you to be happy? That s just how He intended you to be when He made you. But sin and this broken-down world can sweep the happiness right out of anyone s life. So, Jesus came to return it, and much more, not just the happiness, but the blessedness, even the incredible joy. It all begins with worshipping Him. Sermon Notes Beautiful Attitudes! A Study of the Beatitudes of Jesus Matthew 5:1-3 #1 Eyes Up Here! Blessed are the Poor in Spirit Why are they called beatitudes? Blessed is much more, much deeper than happy. How else can blessed be described? Living the beatitudes doesn t save us, but instead shows what? Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven Where will your eyes be this week?
