The Messenger St. Peter Lutheran Church January 2019 From the Interim Pastor.. This is a traditional Hungarian blessing: Where there is faith there is love Where there is love there is peace Where there is peace there is blessing Where there is blessing there is God Where there is God is all we need I think it is helpful when we try to keep our faith as simple as we possibly can. This makes it easier to explain our faith to others when we need to share it with them. Some questions that help me to do this are... 1. Who taught me about God and how did they do this? 2. Have I seen God in the big decisions that I have made in my life? 3. Have I seen God in my struggles? 4. Have I seen God in the joyful times of my life? 5. Do I trust where God is leading me? Questions like these can help me to see how God has already been an important part of my life, and when we can recognize this, then we will know that God is taking us on a journey through this world and that God wants us to do well. When I pray I ask God to show me how to be grateful and how to serve others. This is probably the most important prayer I make for myself. If I can do this then I will be focusing on God inside of myself as well as looking for God in those around me. I can't imagine a better life than this. Happy New Year. I wish you the very best in the coming year and for your family. I also wish you the very best for St. Peter Lutheran as well. I enjoy being your Interim pastor and I have enjoyed getting to know you all better. Thank you. Pastor Steve
