The Lord s Day October 15, 2017 But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me. And you also will bear witness, because you have been with me from the beginning. John 15:26-27 Prelude Welcome & Visitor Information Opening Music On Christ The Solid Rock I Stand -Children s Choir *Call to Worship Psalm 100:1-3 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. *Hymn of Approach No. 381 Brethren, We Have Met to Worship Commissioning Prayers West Virginia Missions Team Prayer of Adoration and Confession Assurance of Pardon 1 John 1:8-9 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. *Affirmation of Faith The Apostle s Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church*, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. *The universal church
*Hymn of Faith Before The Throne of God Above (Ushers come forward on last verse) Before the throne of God above I have a strong and perfect plea A great High Priest whose name is Love Who ever lives and pleads for me. My name is graven on His hands; My name is written on His heart; I know that while in heav n He stands No tongue can bid me thence depart, No tongue can bid me thence depart. When satan... When Satan tempts me to despair, And tells me of the guilt within Upward I look and see Him there Who made an end to all my sin. Because the sinless Savior died, My sinful soul is counted free; For God, the Just, is satisfied To look on Him and pardon me To look on Him and pardon me Behold Him... Behold Him there the risen Lamb, My perfect spotless Righteousness, The great unchangable I AM, The King of glory and of grace! One with Himself I cannot die, My soul is purchased by His blood; My life is hid with Christ on high, With Christ, my Savior and my God With Christ my Savior and my God. One with Himself I cannot die, My soul is purchased by His blood; My life is hid with Christ on high, With Christ, my Savior and my God With Christ my Savior and my God.
