THE HOLY SCRIPTURES OF STEFAN Passage I In the beginning Stefan created the heavens and the earth with Code. Now Graal was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of Stefan was hovering over the waters. And Stefan said, Let there be light, and there was light. Stefan was not content, and he stayed in this state for centuries, working, thinking. Stefan saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. Stefan called the light day, and the darkness he called night. And there was evening, and there was morning the first day. And Stefan said, Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water. So Stefan made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And Stefan called the vault sky. And there was evening, and there was morning the second day. And Stefan said, Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear. And it was so. Stefan called the dry ground land, and the gathered waters he called seas. And Stefan saw that it was good.
Then Stefan said, Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds. And it was so. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And Stefan saw that it was good. And there was evening, and there was morning the third day. And Stefan said, Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth. And it was so. Stefan made two great lights the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. Stefan set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And Stefan saw that it was good. And there was evening, and there was morning the fourth day. And Stefan said, Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky. So Stefan created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And Stefan saw that it was good. Stefan blessed them and said, Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth. And there was evening, and there was morning the fifth day. And Stefan said, Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground,
and the wild animals, each according to its kind. And it was so. Stefan made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And Stefan saw that it was good. Then Stefan said, Let us make Graalians in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground. So Stefan created Graalians in his own image, in the image of Stefan he created them; male and female he created them. Stefan blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground. Then Stefan said, I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground everything that has the breath of life in it I give every green plant for food. And it was so. Stefan saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning the sixth day. Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. By the seventh day Stefan had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.
Passage II This is the account of the heavens and Graal when they were created, when Stefan made the earth and the heavens. Now no shrub had yet appeared on the earth and no plant had yet sprung up, for Stefan had not sent rain on the earth and there was no one to work the ground, but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground. Then Stefan formed a Graalian from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. Now Stefan had planted a garden in the West, in Kiev; and there he put the man he had formed. Stefan made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. A river the garden flowed from Kiev; from there it was separated into four headwaters. Stefan took the man and put him in the Garden of Kiev to work it and take care of it. And the LORD Stefan commanded the man, You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die. Stefan said, It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him. Now Stefan had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals. But for
Christopher, no suitable helper was found. So the LORD Stefan caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. Then the LORD Stefan made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman, for she was taken out of man. That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. Christopher and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame. Passage III Over years of working hand in hand with Adolphus and his family, the LORD Stefan made many more families. The Garden of Kiev was a thriving Garden, full of love and peace, families working together in harmony. Over hundreds and hundreds of years, the Graalian Race and Stefan worked. And Stefan said, Let there be a ruler of the lands, and there was King Tristam. Stefan was not content, and he stayed in this state for centuries, working, thinking. Stefan saw that authority was good, and removed anarchy from the world. Stefan called the king royalty and the lessers citizens. And there was Nobles, and there was Soldiers. And Stefan said, Let there be a law of the land between the classes. So Stefan made law and protected the citizens of Graal. And it was so. Stefan called the law Order. And Stefan said, Let the King keep peace for millions of years under my guidance, and let me be with him. And it
was so. But the Graalian Race had a fault - they got tired and needed to sleep. So Stefan made two great Kings - King Tristam to govern the day and King Hansen to govern the night. Stefan gave them families and land to watch over on the earth, to govern the day and the night, and to separate evil from good. And Stefan saw that it was good. And Stefan said, Let the Kings have full power over the kingdoms and the lands, and let them govern all Graal kind. So Stefan gave the great Kings giant stone castles and fortresses and men and women to guard the walls to protect the Kings. And Stefan saw that it was good. Stefan blessed them and said, Be strong like a rock. You absorb nothing bad, you say nothing bad, and you do nothing bad. And it was so. And Stefan said, Let the Kings live in peace forever and make the lives of Graalians forever good. But it was not so. The Kings went to war - a flaw of free will - for jealous King Hansen, dissatisfied with ruling during a time when all were asleep, wanted total dominion. Passage IV The sons of King Tristam who went to the war were crowned the Generals of his Grace s army. The names of the sons: Alexander, Axel, Xor, and Constantine. The sons of King Hansen were Timemutt, Presley, Thezo and Campbell. The Kings, after years of rivalry, marched to war to the melody of Stefan s tears. The two Kings and their sons arrived one dark day
on the fields outside York. King Tristam looked out across the field to see the armies of Hansen marching in a line. Then King Tristam turned to the skies and asked Why have you done this? Why have you let us march to war and to death? The LORD Stefan answered the King, I cannot keep you contained. You choose your own road and history. The King asked Help us win, our Lord, so we may secure peace. So Stefan was kind to King Tristam and when his sons slept, they were sent to Heaven. The sons were fearful, but they held onto their faith. All around was nothing but the clouds, except for four grails. A red grail, which Alexander approached, a green grail, which Axel approached, a yellow grail, which Xor approached, and a blue grail, which Constantine approached. Drink the grails, o Sons of Graal, Stefan spoke, and find your destiny. Each grail has a secret, a key to peace, that is needed to bring peace to Graal. Alexander drank from the red grail, and was aged fifty years. He had the wisdom and intelligence of Stefan himself. So Axel drank the green grail, and was given the strength of Stefan himself, able to life every boulder. So Xor drank the yellow grail, and he received vast amounts of charm and gravitas, able to convince anyone to do something. So Constantine drank the blue grail, and in his hand, he held a sword. Forward, Sons of Graal, and win the war and secure peace, the LORD Stefan commanded. When the sons awoke, the trumpets of war called. Every man and women lined in their place, ready to cross
swords. The archers were ready, able to shoot arrows. Alexander quickly made an invincible battle plan. Axel was on the front lines, ready to fight and throw anyone out of his way. Constantine had the army in good spirits and ready to kill, chanting Stefan wills it! As the battle roared on, Stefan inspired the men of Tristam to fight hard. Win this battle, o Sons of Graal, roared the LORD. Passage V Now Hansen King of Night heard that Tristam had won the battle, and totally destroyed his army. He and his officers were very much alarmed at this, because his army was an important army, the home of many military traditions; it was larger than his second and third army, and all its men were good fighters. So Hansen King of the Night appealed to his four sons, Come up and help me attack Axel, he said, because it has made my first army into dust and rubble. Then the five royals of the the Night - King of Night and his four Princes - joined forces. They moved up with all their troops and took up positions against Tristam s camp and attacked it. Axel s army then sent word to Constantine in his camp: Do not abandon your servants. Come up to us quickly and save us! Help us, because all the nobles from the Night have joined forces against us. So Constantine marched up from his camp with his entire army, including all the best fighting men. The LORD said to Constantine, Do not be afraid of them; I have given them into your hand. Not one of them will be able to withstand you. After an all-night march from his camp,
Constantine took them by surprise. The LORD threw them into confusion before Axel s army, so Constantine and Axel defeated them completely at the camp. Axel pursued them along the road and cut them down all the way to York and Snowtown. As they fled before Axel on the road down from York to Snowtown, the LORD hurled large hailstones down on them, and more of them died from the hail than were killed by the swords of Axel s men. Constantine said to the LORD: Sun, stand still over the camp, and you, moon, over York. So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies. The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the LORD listened to a human being. Surely the LORD was fighting for Tristam and his men! Then Constantine met Axel back at York. Passage VII Now the five kings had fled and hidden at the cave in York. When Constantine was told that the nobles had been hiding in the cave, he said Roll large rocks up to the mouth of the cave and post some men to guard it! But don t stop, pursue your enemies! Attack them from their rear and don t let them arrive to Vurgos and the Eastern Forests for the LORD your God is with us! Stefan with us! So Constantine and his army defeated them completely, but a few survivors managed to reach their fortified cities. The whole army then returned safely to York.
