May, 2016 CHARLES IS COMING! May 29 th, 2016 But just as you excel in everything in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us see that you also excel in this grace of giving. 2 Corinthians 8:7 What a great time in the life of our church! I look forward to this time every year, when our brother and missionary, Charles Sagay, comes to be with us. Charles ministry to the Baka people in Cameroon is one of my favorite expressions of how God is working in our world today. I hope you will mark your calendar and come on the 29 th to hear from Charles and the work that God is doing through his ministry and our support. Not only am I encouraging you to show up on the 29 th, but please be in prayer about how God is calling you to support this ministry. Our church has been very generous with Charles over the last several years, and our continued support plays an important role in Charles being able to continue his work. This is the only international mission that our church currently supports, and if you know anything about the conditions in Cameroon, you know that even a little support can go a long way. I believe the above passage from 2 Corinthians is the Word of God for us today regarding Charles. When Paul originally wrote this letter, he was writing to a church in an affluent area that had plenty of resources and means (the church in Corinth). The people there lived in abundance and didn t know want. One of Paul s major missions, when starting churches, was to collect money for the church in Jerusalem. This church was undergoing major persecution, along with experiencing famine and drought. Needless to say, the church in Jerusalem was in pretty bad circumstances with starvation, perilous thirst and death being everyday realities for these believers. Paul s call to the Corinthian church was to give, out of their abundance, for the support and benefit of the Jerusalem church in their poverty. This is our call today! The Mission School of Hope is doing the work of healing, teaching, feeding, and preaching the Gospel. This is the work of Jesus in this world. Our call is to support this ministry out of our abundance, and help this church in it s poverty. May we bring glory to God by excelling in this grace of giving! Breakfast Casserole Ingredients Bulk pork sausage (1 ½ pounds) (I use 1 lb. regular and ½ lb. hot; bulk Jimmy Dean s) White bread (I cut off crusts) Grated cheddar cheese ¾ pound Eggs: 4 Milk (2 ½ cups) Salt Mustard (we use grey poupon) Cream of mushroom soup Fresh mushrooms (1/2 pound) Brown 1 ½ # skinless pork sausage - drain. Take 8 slices bread; cut off crusts. (I usually use more than 8 slices. Use enough bread cubes until it is almost up the sides of the casserole dish). Cube bread and put in greased 9 x 13 pan. Put ¾ # (pound) grated cheddar cheese on top of bread. Put sausage over cheese. Egg mixture: 4 eggs, 2 ½ cups milk, dash of salt, ¾ Tablespoon mustard (grey poupon) MIX TOGETHER Pour egg mixture over sausage. Refrigerate overnight In morning, take 1 can cream of mushroom soup and ¼ cup water. Sprinkle fresh sliced mushrooms on top, then cover with soup mixture. Bake 350 for one hour or longer. If it looks soupy in the middle, keep in longer. From the Kitchen of: May 8 Thank you to my wonderful church family for all of your warm thoughts, hugs, prayers and cards on the passing of my father. It means the world to me to have your support. Linda Garasimowicz "This is what the past is for! Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who had a hand in donating food, helping to set up, serve, clean up and participate in our Police Appreciation Breakfast! It really was the most wonderful display of our church working (and fellowshipping) together for a good cause; that being our local police and the newly created chaplain program. We discovered through Police Chief Kevin Schmidt s testimony how vital this program is for their department. It was an awesome message! If you missed it, you can hear it by going to our website (fccweb.net) and clicking on sermon audios. Through your generous donations and a little help from Missions, we raised $1400 for this program! Thank you again to everyone for your help!!! Saturday, May 7 Parkwalk for Cancer We are ready to walk at 10 a.m. on this Saturday morning, and you are welcome to join us if you d like! We ll meet in the parking lot about 20 minutes prior and walk over together. We are still accepting donations for our team. Checks may be made out to ProHealth Care Foundation. Thank you in the name of fighting cancer! Sunday, May 29 Charles Sagay from Mission School of Hope will be here! You will hear more as the weeks go on. We will be taking a free will donation for Charles and the Mission School of Hope on that Sunday. You may make checks out to FCC, note it in your memo that it is for the school, and we will then give one check to Charles for the total amount collected. Looking forward to having our Brother in Christ with us and hearing about the good things that are happening there! We cannot say this enough, THANK YOU to those of you who continually donate diapers and wipes for Life s Connection here in Mukwonago. They are so appreciative of our help!!! submitted by Linda Garasimowicz Personnel Committee Formed When the new constitution was adopted, it said that all personnel questions would be placed under the supervision of the Moderator-elect. The Council has decided that personnel matters will be handled by a Personnel Committee chaired by the Moderator-elect. The committee will have three appointed members. Each will serve a three year term on a rotating schedule. The members of the Committee are appointed by the Council. The first Personnel Committee has now been selected and approved. They are: Cory Ballard 3 year term Karen Mathew 2 year term Bev Webber 1 year term Diane Williams Chair The committee will be reviewing job descriptions, recommending personnel policies to the Council for adoption, and doing an annual review of employees. As a member of the congregation, if you have compliments, comments or concerns about any of the employees of the congregation, please contact any member of the committee. submitted by Diane Williams
