Join the Alliance worldwide family for 40 days of prayer, leading up to the C&MA s General Council 2013. In conjunction with the National Day of Prayer, Alliance 40 Days of Prayer will begin May 2. During this time, we will focus daily on prayer and read selected passages from Acts and Psalms. We also will meditate on personal thoughts about prayer and the deeper life written by C&MA family members from around the world. Go to www.cmaohiovalley.org or www.cmalliance.org and click 40 Days of a United Prayer Community GREAT COMMISSION SUNDAY We who follow Jesus have been set apart for an important task. It s called the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18 20). Jesus invites us to bear the light that will release people from the bondage of sin, the curse of oppression, and the sting of death. Great Commission Sunday is our opportunity to come together as the U.S. Alliance family to extend the light of Jesus further into the darkened areas of our communities and the world. By doing so, we declare our commitment to making the good news of God s unconditional love accessible to all people. Please consider setting aside one Sunday before June 30 to emphasize the worldwide work of The Alliance and collect a special offering for Great Commission Sunday Offering. Churches may bring their Great Commission Sunday Offerings to General Council in Tampa, Florida, in June. During the Sunday celebration, the offering will be presented as we rejoice together in what God is doing through The Alliance. For more information about how you and your church can use these materials to help turn darkness into light, visit the GC Sunday 2013 home page or contact Communications at communications@cmalliance.org or 719-265-2014.
