About Our People * Trinity s March Birthdays If you don t see your birthday here, let us know! Our information is not complete, and we would like to have everyone s birthday listed. If your birthday is in another month, call and make sure we have it! Happy Birthday to the following folks: Mar. 1 Mabel Cassada 2 Matthew Saunders Amber Schneider Lucy Shields 5 Lurie Bailey 6 Gerald Moody 8 Lewis Cassada 9 Elizabeth Kump Carolyn Wilson 10 Peggy Farrar 11 Corey Sapp 12 Emily Shields Hillary Shields 14 Evelyn Cox 15 Jesse Balis 16 Guy Cash 17 Lynn Ellis Alyssa Lively Pat Trombley 20 Carole Kelley 21 Dylan Day Catharine Galluzzo 23 William Gill Caleb Krauchunas James Miller 28 Angie Parrish 29 Bert Watson 30 Dan Hayes Rachael Linkous Dorothy Taylor 31 Betty Adams Bobby Farmer Madeline Sawyer * After finally being able to get to Disney World this February, I wanted to let the Trinity family know that the Disney gift card you gave to me was much appreciated. I was able to purchase a limited edition reproduction cel of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, as well as a Fantasia Mickey Big Fig, a figure which is 20 long, 14 high and 10 wide (it s big!). With the generosity of a Trinity member, the resort I stayed in was no cost to me or my mother, brother, and two nieces. With some of your other retirement gifts I ve been able to purchase two

things I ve wished for for a long time: a Bose sound system and a Kitchen Aid stand mixer. I can cook to music now! I ll always remember the great people at Trinity and will have these special items to remember you by every time I see or use them. Thanks again for being so generous! Cynthia About Our People Continued * Congratulations to Chris and Elvira Highley on the birth of their daughter Natalia, born on January 27 th. Natalia is the granddaughter of Bruce and Cyndee Highley and the great granddaughter of Bill Kinsley. * We welcomed some new members to our church family in January: Sherry and Abigail Farrow, Vicki and Helen McIntyre, Cameron and Olivia Kelly, Hannah and Hailey Donithan, Rodney and Eric Rasmussen, and in February: Jack Ball, Sarah Bishop, Rosa Lee Coburn, Sherri Diven, Katie Haley, JoAnne Jones and Pete and Nellie Page. Welcome! MISSIONS NEWS Our year has gotten off to a great start! Our "Pajamas and Books for Literacy" was a great success and we appreciate your support of this project. These items will be donated locally to children in need and I can just picture them in their new pajamas, settling into bed with a new book to read or actually have someone read to them. Thank you for the great response! We are trying to focus on actually doing some hands on missions locally, so we have started to volunteer at Planet Earth or Safe Havens. Members select a menu and prepare dinner for 21 adults with Mental illnesses. It is a safe place for families to bring their children and distribute meals to those in need. We will be doing this on February 27 and March 26. It is located at the corner of 29th and Hull streets and dinner is served at 5:30. We will be meeting at 4:45 at the church and leaving from there. Anyone can participate and sign up for food donations if you can't attend! The Sojourners Class is in charge of the February feeding but welcomes anyone to join them for spaghetti, salad, bread and desserts. We will also participate in Rebuild Richmond on Saturday, April 28. Reverend Keezel has a clip board for sign up if you are interested. This is similar to the Habitat for Humanity building except for these are older homes that need repairs. The project in April will require some electrical knowledge, drywall experience, railings and roof repairs, but even if you don't have these skills, they can still put you to work! We always have a good time when we work together and with Harold Saunders and Al Tougas in charge, you know that there will not be a dull moment. This is a great opportunity for those that have been wanting a local mission to participate in so put on your tool belt and join us! Trinity has a lot of activities going on all the time and we certainly don't expect everyone to participate in all of them but we hope you will try to step out of your box and start doing some kind of Mission work! Our opportunities are limitless and the rewards you will reap are great!

May God Bless you all! Beth Wilkes, Missions Chairperson BAGGING FOOD AT SHERBOURNE We will be meeting at Sherbourne on Saturday, March 10th at 10 am to put together bags of food. Please keep this in mind if you would like to help. Please contact Deborah Napolitano if you have any questions. Thanks to all who have supported this endeavor with gifts of nonperishable food items, and coming to help with the bagging. The Communication Committee is looking for volunteers to join the communications team to assist with the TUMC website, audio/visual effects, and advertising church events/activities through social media, local newspapers and other media. If you are interested, please call Keith Nowlin at 895-3225 or email: Keith.Nowlin@msn.com Thanks, Keith Nowlin PICTORIAL DIRECTORY NEWS Trinity is updating its pictorial directory the first time in 5 years! To make it a success we need everyone s help by signing up to have their pictures taken. There is no charge to have your picture taken and you ll receive a $25 coupon toward any pictures you may want to purchase. Pictures will be taken Wednesday, March 14 th Saturday, March 17 th and on Friday, March 30 th and Saturday, March 31 st. There are 3 ways you may sign up: 1) On line go to www.signup.olanmills.com. You will be asked to identify the church by its phone number (804-748-2439). 2) At church sign up at the table in the narthex. 3) Call Ted Soto 717-8489. If you have a family member(s) who won t be able to have their picture taken (at college, in the armed forces, etc), we can accept a hard copy photo, or an electronic copy of their picture. Neatly print their name, address, phone and email address on the back of the picture using a felt-tipped pen. Please don t use ball-point pen as it will show through. If sending it via email ( send to ECSoto@comcast.net) include this information in the email. If sending their

picture on a disc, include the information on a piece of paper and tape it to the disc. If you have any questions, please call me at 717-8489. Ted Soto. MUSIC NOTES Our Talent Show will be held on Friday, March 9 th at 6:30 pm. Our theme this year is A Night at the Movies and our dinner menu will be similar to food items that you can purchase at a movie theatre. Yes, we are having POPCORN!!!! So after you eat your hotdog and chips, you can munch on popcorn while you watch the show. We have groups of singers, soloists, dancers, scenes from some funny movies, and much more. You don t want to miss the fun. So, come and bring a friend or neighbor. Donations will go toward the youth mission trip and refurbishing our 2 0ctave set of chimes. Don t forget, there will be a rehearsal on March 4 th at 3:00 pm. We now have 14 beautiful cherubs! You don t want to miss their performance in the talent show. Our Angels are singing Bad Day in the talent show. We are going to try to look like Alvin and the Chipmunks! It is always a good day when you are singing with this group. We are also working on our musical, Life School Musical to be presented in June. There is still time to join this group and be a part of the musical. Just come on Wednesdays at 6:00 pm or Sundays at 5:00 pm. Odyssey will be opening the talent show with Let s go to the Movies. We are also working on our musical for May 20 th, Once Upon a Parable. We need ALL of our teens in Jr. and Sr. High to help us with this project. So please come to church at 4:00 pm on Sunday afternoons to be a character from the Bible in this play. Trinity Chancel Choir will be presenting The Song Everlasting on Palm Sunday, April 1 st. This is a sacred cantata based on early American songs. These hymns, spirituals, and folksongs tell the story of Christ s ministry among us. Please plan to join us for this service of word and music. A special thanks to those individuals who contributed funds to the support of my mother at the Lucy Corr Daycare Center. This facility and the kind people that work there make life so much better for my mother. Thanks to all who shower her with kind words and hugs. She loves coming to church. My thanks to all who sing, ring bells, lead our children in song and scripture and help with crafts. Please know how much I appreciate your time and talents. Our program would not be possible without your help. Blessings, Pat Madison
