Order of Worship CALL TO WORSHIP Revelation 5:11-14 Minister: People: Minister: People: Minister: SONGS OF PRAISE I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they sang: Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise! Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever! The four living creatures said, Amen, and the elders fell down and worshiped. O For A Thousand Tongues TEXT: Charles Wesley, 1739 TUNE: Carl Glässer, 1829 O for a thousand tongues to sing my great Redeemer s praise, The glories of my God and King, the triumphs of His grace. Jesus! the name that charms our fears, that bids our sorrows cease. Tis music in the sinner s ears, tis life and health and peace. He breaks the power of canceled sin, He sets the prisoner free; His blood can make the foulest clean; His blood availed for me. Hear Him, ye deaf; His praise, ye dumb, your loosened tongues employ; Ye blind, behold your Savior come; and leap, ye lame, for joy. He speaks and list ning to His voice, new life the dead receive; The mournful, broken hearts rejoice, the humble poor believe. My gracious Master and my God, assist me to proclaim, To spread through all the earth abroad, the honors of Thy name. Adult Bible Fellowship The purpose of Adult Bible Fellowship is to teach consistently the whole counsel of God through the study of the Bible and biblical topics; to encourage the fellowship of believers; and to build disciples by equipping Christians to make an impact for Jesus Christ beginning in the home and church, and moving to Cullman and beyond. Coordinator Jason White. Family Life For Couples and Parents With Children at Home It seems that families have never faced greater challenges than the current time in which in we live. But thank God that we have His promises, His faithfulness, hope through the person and work of Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit made available to us. On that foundation, our purpose is to encourage and equip (1) couples in their marriage and (2) parents as they raise their children. This includes being real with one another, sharing our victories and defeats. This also includes coming alongside struggling marriages pointing one another to Christ, and simply being there for one another. Led by Jay Weatherly and Jonathan Haynes. Sojourners For Empty Nesters and Grandparents. The primary goal of Sojourners Adult Bible Fellowship is not just presenting information about the Bible. The primary goal is encouraging one another to follow hard after Christ according to the plain meaning of the biblical text. Join with us in the exciting study of Isaiah every Sunday morning after our worship service. Led by Phil Gatlin & Linton Newlin. Faith Followers Women of all ages are invited to study I, II, and III John. Join us as we study the Word and care for each other through prayer. Led by Randy Hays. My New Normal Bell Tower For women who have been married and are going through a loss either because of death or divorce. We focus on God's story for your life and learning to walk in your new normal. Our current study is a book by Larry Crabb called Shattered Dreams. Led by Diane Burton. Iron Sharpens Iron We will spend this year studying through Paul s letters to the church plant in Corinth (1 & 2 Corinthians). The spiritual life journey of a believer is significantly shaped through interactions with a specific community of other believers the local Body. Paul s letters walk us through the good, bad and ugly of maturing Christians in community with other maturing Christians. One change for this year is that we are going CO- ED. Any and all better-halves are invited to join with the men in this study. Led by Steve Nyquist. Wisdom Seekers For men who desire a deeper understanding of God s Word. If you want a more significant role in the home as mature Christian leaders who acknowledge the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom then this class is for you. We are presently studying the book of John with open discussion and fellowship each Sunday. Led by Mike Burton.

INVOCATION CONFESSION OF SIN We Fall Down TEXT & MUSIC: Chris Tomlin, 1998 We fall down, we lay our crowns At the feet of Jesus. The greatness of mercy and love At the feet of Jesus. And we cry holy, holy, holy, And we cry holy, holy, holy, And we cry holy, holy, holy is the Lamb. Help us, O God, to fix the eyes of our hearts on Christ, Your eternal Son. Take our affections off the passing things of this world in order that we may love you with a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. We confess, O Father, that our faith has faltered and our steps have wandered into many foolish and evil ways, injuring ourselves and others and bringing dishonor on Your holy Name. Forgive us, O Lord, through the blood of Your Son; fill our hearts with faith, that we may fill our lives with deeds of love and mercy. Amen. ASSURANCE OF PARDON CLASS 2 - KINDERGARTEN - 1ST Grade Room 15 Teachers change weekly. SONG OF ASSURANCE God Moves In A Mysterious Way TEXT: William Cowper, 1774 MUSIC: Lunsford/Miller, 2006 CLASS 3-2ND Grade - 5TH Grade Room 6 Teachers change weekly. Youth Sunday School The youth classes cover various biblical and theological topics. 7 th & 8 th Grade Jonathan & Amanda Knappenberger Youth House 9 th &10 th Grade Edward Bonds Youth House 11 th & 12 th Grade Brandon & Laura Reeder Youth House College Shane & Tamara Sheffield and Randy & Tara Quinn Youth House God moves in a mysterious way His wonders to perform He plants His footsteps in the sea, and rides upon the storm. Judge not the Lord by feeble sense, but trust Him for His grace; Behind a frowning providence He hides a smiling face. Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take; the clouds ye so much dread Are big with mercy, and shall break in blessings on your head. His purposes will ripen fast, unfolding ev ry hour; The bud may have a bitter taste, but sweet will be the flow r Blind unbelief is sure to err, and scan His work in vain; God is His own interpreter, and He will make it plain.

INTERCESSORY PRAYER Sermon Notes OFFERING Please place visitor cards in the offering plate. SCRIPTURE READING Ephesians 3:14-21 SERMON Looking For Love In All The Wrong Places Jim Daughtry COMMUNION SONG Glorious Day TEXT: J. Wilbur Chapman, 1908, alt. John Mark Hall MUSIC: Michael Bleeker One day when Heaven was filled with His praises, One day when sin was as black as could be, Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin, Dwelt among men, my example is He. Word became flesh and the light shined among us, His glory revealed. Living, He loved me; dying, He saved me; And buried, He carried my sins far away; Rising, He justified freely forever: One day He s coming oh, glorious day. Oh, glorious day! One day they led Him up Calvary s mountain, One day they nailed Him to die on a tree. Suffering anguish, despised and rejected. Bearing our sins, my Redeemer is He. Hands that healed nations, stretched out on a tree, And took the nails for me. One day the grave could conceal Him no longer, One day the stone rolled away from the door, Then He arose, over death He had conquered Now He s ascended, my Lord evermore. Death could not hold Him, The grave could not keep Him from rising again. One day the trumpet will sound for His coming, One day the skies with His glories will shine, Wonderful day, my beloved one bringing, My Savior Jesus is mine.

Pray for Our Missionaries Reid and Kelli Jones serve on the campus of the University of Alabama, Huntsville with Reformed University Fellowship (RUF). The Jones have two girls, Lucy and Jordan. RUF is the campus ministry of the Presbyterian Church in America. It has branches on 150 college campuses around the United States. The following is a portion of Reid s report to this year s General Assembly. RUF is nearing its tenth year at The University of Alabama in Huntsville, and in many ways it now feel like we are truly part of this community. Almost every time I visit a local church, I come across our young alumni who are now connected to those churches. Also we are finding more students coming to UAH looking for RUF, which is a very new phenomenon for us. UAH itself is a changing and growing university, and RUF is benefiting from its progression. We have more freshmen involved this year than my first three years on campus combined. Our leadership team is now planning and leading most all of our social and outreach functions, and we are seeing an interest in leadership to a greater level than ever before. In fact, we are moving from a closed ministry team to an open one in the coming months in order to give more opportunities to young students to get involved and develop their gifts to serve Jesus and his Church for years to come. We are enjoying this season of growth for our ministry, and praise the Lore for connecting new students with us this year. We have had more students attend conferences than ever before and have outgrown our Large Group meeting space twice in the last year and a half. With this growth comes many difficulties, of course. Our students are struggling through broken homes, difficult relationships, abusive pasts, recent deaths of parent, and many other harsh realities that college students face. Pray for our ministry to be a continual, plodding-like faithfulness of Gospel encouragement to speak to the regular difficulties of students lives. CONFESSION OF FAITH COMMUNION CLOSING SONG The Apostles Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah TEXT: William Williams, 1717-1719, alt Jeremy Casella MUSIC: Jeremy Casella, 2002 Guide me, O Thou great Jehovah, Pilgrim through this barren land. I am weak, but Thou art mighty; Hold me with Thy powerful hand. Bread of heaven, Feed me now and evermore; Bread of heaven, Feed me now and evermore. Open now the crystal fountain, Whence the healing waters flow; Let the fire and cloudy pillar Lead me all my journey through. Strong Deliverer, Be Thou still my Strength and Shield. Strong Deliverer, Be Thou still my Strength and Shield. When I tread the verge of Jordan, Bid my anxious fears subside; Death of death, and hell's destruction, Land me safe on Canaan s side. Songs of praises, I will ever give to Thee; Songs of praises, I will ever give to Thee. Land me safe on Canaan s side Bid my anxious fears, bid my anxious fears Land me safe on Canaan s side Bid my anxious fears, bid my anxious fears Land me safe on Canaan's side Bid my anxious fears, bid my anxious fears goodbye. *BENEDICTION CCLI #499311 All songs used with permission. The Apostles Creed in its present form comes from the eighth century but older forms were used in the very early church. It is called the Apostles Creed, not because the Apostles wrote it, but because it summarizes their teaching. Catholic means one, only, true, and universal.

Starting July 17th through August 28th, Andrew will be leading a discussion class in the Fellowship Hall called Stump the Chump. You will have an opportunity to submit questions for him to answer. Children s Sunday School There are two very important announcements you need to know starting June 5. 1) ALL 6th graders (not upcoming, but those that just completed 6th grade) will go straight to the youth house for Sunday school following the worship service. 2) Children's Sunday school will be divided into three classes. These classes are based on the grades they just completed, NOT the grades they will be in this fall. CLASS 1 - PRESCHOOL 3-4 YEAR OLDS - This class will meet in the SAME classroom, Room14. Parents, please go to this class to pick up your child following Sunday school. CLASS 2 - KINDERGARTEN - 1ST - This class will meet in Room 15. This is a DIFFERENT room for the 1st graders but not the Kindergarten class. Parents, please go to this class to pick up your child following Sunday school. CLASS 3-2ND - 5TH - This class will meet in Room 6. This is a DIFFERENT classroom for the 2nd & 3rd grades. This class will be dismissed from their classroom following Sunday school. If you have any questions about these changes please feel free to call or see Tracie. 205-527- 4238 Operation Christmas Child News Our church has been selected again to serve as the OCC Shoebox Ministry collection center for Cullman County. The OCC Committee has planned several activities to break last year s record of 7818 boxes. HomTex will again contribute pillowcases for ladies to make dresses for girls shoeboxes. The OCC Community Event will be held in August. There will be an OCC entry in the Cullman Fair parade and a booth at the Fair. Chick-Fil-A will again promote the shoebox ministry at the Chick-Fil-A restaurant. John Williams will coordinate a social media program to reach 10,000 people in Cullman County. The church youth will have their shoebox packing party on Nov. 16. You can support this ministry by accumulating items for the shoebox packing party, commit to pack one shoebox for each member of your family, and plan to help during shoebox collection week (Nov. 14-21). Most importantly, pray for all the volunteers involved in this mission project and for the ultimate goal that God will use this ministry for His glory. Attention Ladies You're invited to a baby shower on Sunday, July 17th from 2-4 pm at the church. All baby items will be donated to First Source for Women, the only crisis pregnancy center in Cullman County. Contact Katie Thompson or Siusan Peek for more details. Dear Family Thank you so much for all of the people who have come forward to support our first short-term team effort. We are excited and preparing our hearts. We wanted to say a special thank you to the following: The Yeager and Powell families for all the work and donations and hosting that you put into the yard sales. The Reid family and Dave Ozment for your hard work on the Boston Butt sales. Lisa Jones for your investment of your talents to God's service. The Jason White family for donating your creative talents and skills in putting our t-shirt into print. The Rick White family for the most wonderful rolls and for leading the prayer team. The Lang family for collecting children's books in Spanish for us to take. We cannot wait to see the faces that receive these books. Each church member that purchased a t- shirt, Boston butt, photo session or yard sale item in support of sending us to serve. The prayer team for taking our smallest requests to heart and taking them to the throne with us. We have been blessed to have the chance to see God use each of you in a very special investment of your talents. We will treasure that gift in our hearts. Gratefully Yours! The Honduras Team
