Lutefisk Leaflet Volume 21 Issue 5 Happy 60 th birthday Trinity Lutheran Church! How exciting that 1/3 of those years have included the Lutefisk, Lefse, Meatball supper! Some traditions are important to keep alive!! Don t leave church today without making sure you have signed up to assist with the supper. Workers and salads are all needed. Everyone s effort is appreciated! Ole is on his deathbed. One day he smells the smell of fresh lefse coming from downstairs. So he summons up the last of his strength and drags himself downstairs. He's at the table reaching for the lefse when Lena slaps his hand and says, "Ole, that's for after the funeral." Come to the supper for Christmas Shopping as well! Sharing the Dream products will be featured! Thank you to Thrivent Financial Action Teams for purchasing supplies and advertising for our event!
CULTURAL LEARNING TRIP Join Sharing the Dream founder Diane Nesselhuf January 25th- Feb. 3 rd for a learning trip to Guatemala. Sharing the Dream s philosophy is that we travel to Guatemala to be with people instead of to do for people. We believe that this is important because we don t have all the answers and we want the Guatemalan people to understand we are on equal terms with them. Throughout the trip, you will have the opportunity to listen to their hopes and dreams and learn about their vibrant culture. Our hope is that you will return home with a new appreciation for our neighbors here and abroad. Diane will also be taking a group of people to Guatemala for a design trip May 30 th -June 8 th. They will spend a day in Antiqua looking at ideas in the different shops. The rest of the trip will be spent working with the different groups on design, colors and getting to know the people who make the beautiful Sharing the Dream products. Both trips are limited to 8 people so sign up soon. Contact Diane at diane@sharingthedream.org for more info or stop by the store at 10 W. Main St. to pick up a brochure for more information.
