Service Music Texts There s a New Song Ringin There s a new song ringin.there s a new song down in Bethlehem. Glory hallelujah down in Bethlehem. Gloria. Hear the angels singin, gloria, Jesus is born. Gloria. Hear the steeples ringin down in Bethlehem. There s a song in the air! There s a star in the sky! There s a mother s deep prayer and a baby s low cry! And the star rains its fire while the beautiful sing, For the manger of Bethlehem cradles a King! Oh, there s a new song in the air. There s a new song in Bethlehem. The Rose Tree Carol Winter s frozen winds were stilled in the midst of snowing. Though the world with dark was filled, hope for life was growing. Then a rose tree blossomed fair, God s own perfect flower so rare. On the tree once bare grew a rose so fair. Oh! The rose tree blooming, fragrant its perfuming. Through the shadows of the night wise men searched the heavens. There they saw a wondrous light, and it seemed to beckon. Come to Bethlehem and see. Come and worship Christ the King. See the shining star spreading light afar. Oh! The star was glowing, brightness round them growing. People on this blessed morn sing an alleluia. Come to where the Lord was born, sing an alleluia. Let creation praises bring, glory to the King of kings. Let the people sing. Let the steeples ring. Allelu, lift a joyful alleluia. Sing an alleluia. Prayer for the week LEARNING TAKE HOME SHEET O Star-Flinging God: An Epiphany Prayer O Star-flinging God, whose light dances across eternity, dazzle us into your presence this new year. Open our hearts to the mystery of your love. Awaken us to your presence, knit to the ordinary. Reveal to us what is possible, but not yet present. Heal us, that we might be healers. Reconcile us to you and to ourselves, that our living might be reconciling. Stop us often, we pray with news that is good with hope that holds with truth that transforms with a Word tailored to this trail we're on. May the word of your grace guide our steps like the sun by day and the north star by night, as we travel into the gift of a new year. Amen. written by Glenn Mitchel Scripture/message for next week: For the next several weeks you are invited to encounter God through our time of worship, learning, fellowship and service.
