Young Adults Gathering on Friday, June 5 at 6:30 p.m. Home of Rose & Lenny Saltzman (1505 Melchor Rd., Albemarle) There will be fellowship gathering for young adults on June 5 at the home of Rose & Lenny Saltzman. You are invited to gather at the Saltzman home for a time of shared food and fellowship. Childcare can be provided upon request. 2015 Community Health Assessment The Stanly County Health Department is partnering with Stanly Regional Medical Center to conduct the 2015 Community Health Assessment. A public opinion survey is a key component of this assessment. Stanly County residents 15 and older are encouraged to complete this survey. It can be accessed at www.stanlycountync.gov through June 14, 2015. It will take 15 minutes or less to complete a survey. Please let your voice be heard. Your opinion is very important. The results from the survey are used to assist in developing action plans to address priority community health concerns for the next three years. This information is, also, used by agencies and organizations to obtain grants. If you would like a program on the community health assessment to be presented to an organization, group, etc., please contact Debbie Bennett at 704-986-3016 to schedule one.

Summer Sermon Series Within the Stories: Experiencing God in Life, Literature, and The Word This summer, our sermons will explore the work of the Holy Spirit in the words of literature (particularly children s literature), the experiences of every day life, and the certainty of God s Word. Expect to hear excerpts from some of your favorite children s books, including: The Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown Alexander and The Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Day by Judith Viorst Poems by Shel Silverstein The Sneetches and Other Stories by Dr. Seuss, and Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. You ll also be introduced to other important children s books, including: Miss Tizzy by Libba Moore Gray Fly Away Home by Eve Bunting, and The Junkyard Wonders by Patricia Polacco. There is plenty of humor in the musical comedy, Rock Slinger and His Greatest Hit, by Allen Pote & Tom Long, with the timeless power of the message: Our great God is worthy of trust, and His power is victorious if we trust Him with every challenge. Music & Arts Camp promises to provide a fun-filled week of entertainment for the camper and volunteers!
