Norriton Updates January 2018 Greetings in the Name of Christ! Lord, our Lord, how incredible and magnificent is your name in all the earth. Your voice spoke the word of light and the light was given. Your heart shouted hope and love and creation was born. Your tears cried torrents for your errant people, and your prophets boldly stepped forward to proclaim your presence. Your Love streamed down and Jesus the Christ came to us, to heal, teach, guide, and bring us to you. Your Power hovered over us, lighting a mighty flame, inspiring us to be your witnesses. How magnificent and wonderful you are, O Lord. Now the old is passing away and a new heaven and earth are being born. Lord, we want to be ready to serve you in your new heaven and new earth. We need to let go of the disappointments and fears, and open our hearts to receive your love and blessings for us. This is a time of new beginnings. The past we cannot change. We can reflect on all that has happened and move on into a new relationship with you. Let the light of your love shine on us that we may feel and know your powerful presence with us. Let the light of your love shine in us, that we may be encouraged to use our gifts and talents to serve others. Let the light of your love shine through us, that others may come to know you. In this time of new beginnings, new hopes arise. Give us courage to reach out for the dreams and hopes; give us confidence that we can accomplish much for you. amay it be so as we serve God with Christ's love in our hearts and the Holy Spirit guiding us. Peace be with you, Pastor Lori Thank You On behalf of our family, I want to thank you for the Christmas greetings, gifts and love that you have showered upon us. We are so blessed to have you in our lives! Your constant love and support reminds us that God truly does dwell among us. God bless you and those you seek to love this day, this year and always! Pastor Lori

Financial Update Below are the figures for November 2017: Income: $ 11,965.16 Expenses: 8,824.10 Don't forget - if you'd like to make a contribution for the tractor/driveway fund there are special envelopes available in the pew racks, or mark your regular offering envelope. *The Pork Dinner made $1,001 profit, of which 25% will be donated to Presbyterian Disaster Relief. Thank you all! Thank you for your on-going, prayerful consideration of your financial stewardship. Norriton continues to make a difference! Thank you all for your help with our many mission projects! We filled and wrapped 86 mugs for Outreach House clients, and also repsonded generously to the request for items on the mittens from Women's Bridge. On Communion Sunday, for "Food on the First" we are asking for personal care items: shampoo, deodorant, toothbrushes, $ store can openers, toothpaste...for the pantry. And we always need used plastic grocery bags. Those free calendars that you get in the mail can also be put in the grocery cart. If you are a knitter or crocheter, this is the time of year to crank out a scarf for someone who might otherwise go without. We are, indeed, spreading the light of Christ to our neighbors! Do you shop at Redner's or Giant? Don't forget to save and turn in your Redner's receipts. You must use your updated "Save a tape" card with your purchase. Those valuable receipts earn the church 5% of the total and may be put in your offering envelope or just dropped into the offering plates. AND Judy Stayton has Giant gift cards for purchase. The cards earn 5% of the card cost for the church, as well. It's an easy way to supplement our budget. **Please note - if we get receipts with the "save-a-tape" total cut off, they are no good for the rebate. Please make sure the total shows. Thank you! If you know someone who is sick or facing a crisis situation, or celebrating a special occasion, Norriton's prayer chain is willing to offer prayers. Call your Deacon, call or email the office, with your

request. The Deacons are: Susan Titze, Kristen Scanlon, Doris Menard, Ken Miller and Linda Kraft Our Prayers continue for: Cristine Farrer and her mother, Raun, for continued good health Shawn, Alderfer's young friend, undergoing cancer treatment John Wilson, in a care facility Those who fight addictions Bob Lint, following elbow and arm surgery, for good range of motion and good rehab Sue Wilson for a successful rehab following back surgery Meghan Santa Croce, a 17 year old friend of Pastor Lori, who is dealing with daily radiation And we add to the list: This congregation, for opportunities to serve our neighbors in a positive way The family of Bobshi Wollen, following her death All those struggling with seasonal illnesses Harry Alderfer's friend, John, recovering from triple bypass surgery Your Elders and Deacons are: Elders Class of 2019: Chris Alburger, Jo Shockley Class of 2018: Janet Detweiler Class of 2017: Harry Alderfer, Mary Johnston Clerk of Session: Bill McMullen Financial Secretary: Ted Menard Treasurer: Mary Johnston Deacons Doris Menard Kristen Scanlon, Susan Titze (head) Ken Miller, Linda Kraft *if you have questions or concerns about anything at Norriton, please feel free to speak to Pastor Lori or any one of your elected officers, at any tim January
