2018 Pilgrimage to Italy with Christopher West trip itinerary DAY 1- Thursday, November 8: DEPART THE USA Depart on an overnight flight to Rome from JFK. (Dinner and breakfast on plane) ST. PETER BASILICA ALTAR OF ST. JOHN PAUL II IN ST. PETER BASILICA DAY 2- Friday, November 9: WELCOME, ASSISI Our professional English-speaking guide meets us at Fumicino Airport in Rome and assists with luggage and bus boarding. We are on the way to Assisi (2-hour drive). A lunch stop awaits us on the way before arriving in Assisi, the beautiful city of St. Francis and St. Clare. Our first visit is to the magnificent Basilica of Santa Maria Degli Angeli (St. Mary of the Angels) to celebrate Mass, explore the basilica, including the Porziuncala (the chapel where St. Francis started his order). Dinner and overnight in Assisi. (Breakfast on plane, lunch, welcome dinner) DAY 3- Saturday, November 10: ASSISI One of the most peaceful spots in Italy, Assisi is a spiritual treasure. The day starts with a visit to St. Francis Basilica for Mass. We see the tomb of St. Francis and further explore the upper and the lower parts of the Basilica with our expert guide before walking the length of the town to the Basilica of St. Clare. Following lunch on your own, we visit San Damiano. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight in Assisi. (Breakfast, Dinner) DAY 4- Sunday, November 11: SIENA/ASSISI Depart through the majestic hills of Umbria to Siena, home of St. Catherine, where we celebrate Mass and visit the Cathedral which contains the relics of the saint. Tuscany is known for production of wine and olive oil and we stop at a winery to see how wine is made by local producers. Typical home-cooked Tuscan lunch and wine sampling is included. In the afternoon we return to Assisi. Dinner is on your own tonight. Overnight in Assisi. (Breakfast, Lunch with wine) ECSTASY OF ST. TERESA DAY 5- Monday, November 12: ORVIETO/ROME The drive this morning takes us through the Umbrian hills to the magnificent hilltop town of Orvieto, famous for its wine and Cathedral, which is considered one of the most beautiful in Italy. In town, we see the dodecagon, a rare and unique 12-sided bell tower at Sant Andrea Church on Piazza della Repubblica. Celebrate Mass at the Cathedral that contains the relic of the Eucharistic Miracle of Bolsena. We have lunch, a taste of the famous Orvieto Classico wine this region is famous for and time to explore on our own. Check into our hotel in Rome, and dinner is at leisure tonight. Overnight in Rome. (Breakfast, Lunch with wine) DAY 6- Tuesday, November 13: ROMAN BASILICAS, HOLY DOORS OF JERUSALEM Today we visit the four Roman Basilicas. We begin with a visit of St. Peter s

Following the visit, we move on to St. Mary Major, St. Paul Outside the Walls and St. John Lateran. Along the way, we will visit the Holy Stairs from Jerusalem. We visit the food emporium Eatily, where each pilgrim will be given a card charged with 25 to buy food and/or a beverage of choice. Dinner is on your own. (Breakfast, Lunch) DAY 7- Wednesday, November 14: PAPAL AUDIENCE/ CATACOMBS/2-HR PRIVATE VISIT TO SISTINE CHAPEL This morning, we are thrilled to be blessed by Pope Francis as we attend the Papal Audience in St. Peter s Square. In the afternoon, we take Via Aurelia, the ancient road to the Catacombs, to see where the early Christians buried their dead and to celebrate Mass. From 6-8 p.m. we have an exclusive, private outing to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel, where we will receive a reflection from Christopher, followed by time to pray in what St. John Paul II called The Shrine to the Theology of the Body. After the chapel visit, we enjoy a late special group dinner with pizza and pasta in a local restaurant. (Breakfast, dinner) COLOSSEUM DAY 8- Thursday, November 15: ROME AT LEISURE You have a free day to choose your own program. Private Mass will be planned at a church near the hotel before everyone heads out. (Breakfast) DAY 9- Friday, November 16: ECSTASY OF ST. TERESA/ ANCIENT ROME After breakfast at the hotel, we begin a tour of Ancient Rome, seeing the Forum, touring the Coliseum, driving by the Piazza Venezia, Via Veneto and marveling at other highlights of Rome. Next, we cross over the Tiber into central Rome for a walking tour to include the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, Pantheon and Piazza Navona. After lunch, we make our way to Santa Maria della Vittoria for group Mass and to spend time reflecting on the famous Ecstasy of St. Teresa of Avila statue by Bernini a popular piece of sacred art referenced throughout Christopher West s presentations. We then return to the hotel to rest and refresh for our festive farewell dinner with local music, great Italian food and a choice of beverages. (Breakfast, special dinner) DAY 10- Friday, November 17: RETURN TO USA ST. 2018 Pilgrimage to Italy with Christopher West trip itinerary EXTENSION TO FLORENCE, PADUA, BOLOGNA AND VENICE (FOR ADDITIONAL COST) - November 17-20: DAY 10- Friday, November 17: FLORENCE While some pilgrims return home in the morning to the USA, those pilgrims on the extension depart to the magnificent city of Florence. Upon arrival we stop at Michelangelo Square for a panoramic picture of the city. The two-hour walking tour takes us to see the Duomo and the Baptistery next door (outside view), the Church of the Holy Cross, Signoria Square and other highlights of the city. At the Academia we see the beautiful statue of David by Michelangelo. Private Mass will be celebrated. Dinner is on your own. Overnight in Florence. (Breakfast) DAY 11- Saturday, November 18: FLORENCE-BOLOGNA- PADUA Transfer by private bus with your guide to Bologna, the bread basket of Italy. You have lunch in Bologna with an opportunity to taste the famous Lambrusco wine and explore the center of Bologna including the many food shops. Your next stop is Padua and the incredible Basilica of St. Anthony, where we attend Vigil Mass. Settle into the hotel in Padua. Dinner is at the hotel. Overnight in Padua. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) DAY 12- Sunday, November 19: VENICE You depart by coach to the city of Mestre where the group boards a ferry to Venice. You will be amazed at the site of Venice as you approach it from the water; it is truly one of the most beautiful cities in the world. After attending Mass, we explore the city by foot during the walking tour (approx. 2 hours). The afternoon is at leisure to explore on your own or perhaps visit one of the Venetian islands. You will meet up with the rest of the group for dinner at a local restaurant with choice of beverages including wine. Transfer back to the mainland for overnight in Padua. (Breakfast, Special dinner) ASSISI ST. JOHN LATERAN COLOSSEUM ST. PAUL OUTSIDE THE WALLS VENICE DAY 13- Monday, November 20: RETURN TO USA Following breakfast, depart for Venice Airport and flight home to USA. (Breakfast)

Nov. 8-17, 2018 meet the pilgrimage team CHRISTOPHER WEST Christopher West s global lecturing, best-selling books and multiple audio and video programs have made him the world s most recognized teacher of John Paul II s Theology of the Body -- a bold, biblical vision of love and sexuality that takes us to the cor of what it means to be human. He is founder of The Cor Project, an international outreach devoted to spreading this liberating teaching and empowering others to learn, live and share it. Christopher is a proud husband and father of five. JASON CLARK Jason Clark works closely with Christopher West as Executive Vice President of The Cor Project and has been leading Christian worship music for 25 years. As a former youth minister, seminarian and Franciscan University graduate, Jason has led worship around the country for numerous parishes, conferences, retreats and pilgrimages. His sensitivity to music as a gift and channel that can lead us to the heart of Christ is one of his greatest gifts. Jason lives in Lancaster County, Pa., with his wife, Jeanette, and their five children. BILL HOWARD Bill Howard is Media Director for The Cor Project and pilgrimage organizer. In addition to managing Cor s media platform, Bill also helps develop and market Cor resources, as well as grow the Cor Membership experience. Prior to joining The Cor Project team, he spent nearly two decades as a leader in the Catholic Press. He has previously organized six pilgrimages, including Poland, Ireland and Mexico for The Cor Project, and Italy (twice) and Ireland for Colorado Springs Bishop Michael J. Sheridan. FATHER PATRICK SCHULTZ Father Patrick Schultz is parochial vicar at Communion of Saints Parish in Cleveland, Ohio. Ordained in May 2016, Father Patrick attended his first course with Christopher West at the Theology of the Body Institute in June 2017. His studies for the priesthood include time in Rome. He s passionate about sharing the good news of the TOB, especially with young people, having taught it to middle school students and teens for the past decade. FATHER PAUL HOULIS Father Paul Houlis is the parochial vicar at St. Paul Catholic Church in Ramsey, N.J. Ordained in May 2011, Father Paul served as a chaplain on the 2017 Cor Pilgrimage to Ireland and was chaplain for his parish pilgrimage to Rome and Fatima in 2016. He has attended several courses and been a course chaplain for the Theology of the Body Institute. and loves the Theology of the Body with all my heart, mind and soul! additional important information Details of the program, hotels, airports and airlines are subject to change based on events beyond the tour company s control. Passengers who require personal assistance must be accompanied by a paying passenger who will provide that assistance. Deviations are possible on the return only, with $150.00 deviation fee plus any additional airline or land charges. Land-only services start and end at the hotels unless the passengers are arriving at the same time as a group. Select does not block individual flight seats. They are able to block off a section for the group to sit as close together as possible. Pilgrims are advised to contact the airline closer to the departure date (by phone or online) to check the availability of seats together. Frequent flier numbers should be provided by the passengers directly to the airlines at the airport. Select International does not process mileage requests as part of our service. Single room supplement for main part of pilgrimage is available for $795 and limited to 10% of the group total. A limited amount of single rooms are also available for extension for additional cost. Requests for a roommate are accommodated whenever possible, however Select International does not guarantee that a roommate will be available. A single supplement will be assessed at the time of final payment if the roommate is not found. Should a passenger be required to stay in a single room due to the cancellation of their roommate, they are subject to single supplement charges. (Travel Protection may help cover this cost if purchased.) A $15.00 per-package shipping and handling fee will be added to each invoice, should Select be required to send out documents to more than one central address. Baggage allowance on this pilgrimage is based on one checked-in suitcase up to 50 lbs. and one small carry-on plus a private bag. Should the luggage exceed the baggage allowance and the airlines do not board the passengers and or charge extra, additional costs will be assessed according to the circumstances. Any costs incurred associated with excess baggage are the responsibility of the passengers and must be settled on the spot.

General Terms & Conditions Deposits and final payment: A deposit of $500.00 per person should accompany the registration form, along with your optional Travel Protection payment and a copy of your passport picture page by July 21. You can mail your form and passport photo page copy to the address below or use the online registration/payment portal at selectinternationaltours.com. A fee applies to all online payments. FINAL PAYMENT IS DUE 60 DAYS BEFORE DEPARTURE, upon receipt of the final invoice from Select International. A late payment fee of $100.00 per person will be assessed for all payments received within 45 days of departure as well as any significant changes in the dates or the itinerary once the program has been booked. An optional payment plan is available whereby monthly installments can be arranged. The credit card forms must be mailed to Select with an original signature and copies of the credit card front and back. Credit card payments can be accepted only as final payment and must be made at least 45 days before departure. Cancellations: Individual deposits are refundable except for a $350.00 per person handling fee, for cancellations prior to 90 days before departure. For cancellations 90 to 60 days prior to departure, a $500.00 cancellation fee will be assessed. Within 60 days prior to departure all payments are non-refundable, regardless of the reason for cancellation. Unused portions of the trip are non-refundable. Some programs may differ in cancellation charges. State Department and Other Agencies: Occasionally the US State Department (www.state.gov) and the Centers for Disease Control (www.cdc.gov) and other government agencies and departments may issue travel advisories or warnings for one or more of the destinations that this tour may be visiting. Select International Tours cannot change the cancellation terms or trip plans based on the issuance of any such warning or advisory or the occurrence incident in one or more of the places this tour is scheduled to visit. All cancellation penalties must remain in full force and effect as outlined on the reservation form, regardless of the reason for cancellation. Travel Protection: We strongly urge you to purchase Travel Protection, offered on the registration form. Two plan options are available: Group Deluxe (cost: $242), which helps provides protection in case of cancellations due to a covered reason, and Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) (cost: $399), which provides the ability to cancel for any reason but refunds 75% of the trip cost*.
