Event Guidelines: Share these guidelines with your group before you arrive at the Youth Conference. Youth Supervision Your first and foremost responsibility is to chaperone and supervise your own youth. Below are the rules we expect our White Horse youth to abide by. These are guidelines for your youth, as well, and are what we expect you, as youth leaders, to enforce: 1. No gum is permitted on the property. Don t chew! It will be confiscated. 2. Youth are not to be on the ministry platform unless invited by leadership. 3. Cell phones and ipads may be used for Bible and note taking. NO TEXTING DURING SERVICE (as impossible as that may sound!) Please leave your ipods, CD players, MP3 players, at home or in your hotel room. Your time at the conference is to be focused on building relationships with God and one another. 4. If it s against the law, it s against the rules absolutely no smoking, drinking or illegal drugs are allowed. 5. Public displays of affection are not permitted. 6. No profanity will be tolerated. 7. No fighting allowed. 8. Respect expected: No talking during services; No gossip or trash talk; No abusing equipment or furniture. 9. Wear appropriate clothing. Please make every attempt to dress modestly. It is possible to dress in a way that causes others to stumble or lose focus. To help reduce this possibility, do not wear tight or see-through clothing, bathing suits, short shorts or skirts, low-cut tops or clothing that reveals any undergarments. Guys and girls need to wear a shirt at all times. 10. Pick up after yourself. White Horse Christian Center staff will not be held responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen items. Keep track of your stuff. 11. All food and drink is to be kept in the West 3 rd and Fellowship Hall areas only. Only bottled water is allowed in the rest of the building. 12. Youth are to stay in designated areas only. They are not to be in the parking lot or leave the grounds without their chaperones. They are not to go upstairs or wander through the back hallways. For security reasons, we keep all our classrooms and unused areas locked. Youth leaders, please know where your attendees are at all times. 7

First Aid & Urgent/Emergency Situations We are available to serve you! If any of your youth have special needs, require first aid, or encounter an unforeseen urgent situation, please inform the attendants at the Registration Table, the Usher s Table, or speak to Security personnel (in black Security t-shirts). Security & Conflict Resolution Our security personnel will be surveying the facility, the parking lots, restrooms, and grounds throughout the conference. Your youth will know they are there. In the case of a conflict or disciplinary situation, your teenagers will be brought to you, their youth leaders, for resolution. It is your responsibility, not our security team s, to see that the situation is handled and the proper discipline administered. If your youth encounter a conflict with youth from other groups, please go to the leaders of the other group(s) to resolve the conflict. If you still need help with resolution, a member of the White Horse pastoral team will be available to assist you. Boys & Girls, Birds & Bees We encourage your youth to make new friends and interact with one another in a healthy, friendly manner. Please advise your youth especially your young ladies that even though this is a Christian conference, not everyone who attends will conduct themselves in an entirely appropriate manner. If they feel threatened or preyed upon in any way, they should let you know immediately, at which time you should approach the appropriate youth leadership to resolve the issue. Advise your young men that they are NOT here to hit on girls (or to find hot babes ), and they are to treat all young ladies as sisters, not targets. Again, if you encounter a problem where you need our intervention, please ask for a member of our pastoral ministry team. Ministry Guidelines As important as fun and fellowship are for our teenagers, we believe the anointing of God is the primary thing! We want every teenager that enters these doors to have the opportunity to be ministered to. There will be times for personal ministry on our prayer lines for the youth at every main service. We ask that you allow only members of our designated prayer team to lay hands on and pray for your teenagers. This allows them to receive during a time of close supervision and under godly authority and closes the door to confusion. We are not restricting you, as youth leaders, from ministering to your own teenagers and if you would like to help during the ministry time, please see one of the WHCC pastors for release to do so. Please keep this in mind: As this is a Youth Conference, the ministry times are designed for the youth to receive ministry. Please do not go to the line for ministry and leave your youth unattended. 8

Friday Afternoon Activities On Friday, please have your youth wear clothes in which they can be active. We will have some outdoor time, weather permitting, with some group activities. For safety reasons, it will be best if flip-flop sandals not be worn that day. Sunscreen is advisable, as well! Note: we expect your youth leaders/chaperones to be supervising your group, even during outdoor activities. We are excited that you are joining us for the 2015 Youth Conference! This event is designed to help you, as you and your team care for and lead the youth in your ministry. You and your adult volunteers will be responsible to make sure your youth are following all guidelines in this Youth Leaders Information Packet. The White Horse staff do all we can to provide a safe environment for all who attend, but are not responsible to monitor and/or discipline your youth. Thank you for shepherding your group! If you have any questions, feel free to call us at: (765) 477-1111 9
