Page 2 First Sunday of Lent Happy Birthday to Teresa Weiner on her 90th Birthday! God bless you on your birthday and every day! What are you doing this Lent? We want to know. Are you observing Lent in an interesting way, one that you might like to share with other parishioners looking for a way to make this the Best Lent Ever? Email mmack@stkilianchurch.org and let us know what you are doing. We d love to share the stories of those in our community who are making this the Best Lent Ever! Year of Mercy Praise Report In response to Pope Francis call to a Jubilee Year of Mercy, the Ministries of St. Kilian were asked to consider engaging in specific gestures of Mercy. Our Weekend Sacristans have responded! During the month of January, personal items and gift cards were collected to support the El Niño Homeless Relief projects coordinated by the City of Mission Viejo in conjunction with the Orange County Rescue Mission and Family Assistance Ministries who will distribute the resources in partnership with Mercy House to benefit the homeless displaced by El Niño storms. Thank you to the Weekend Sacristans for setting a powerful example of Mercy in Action!!! Loving Father, I invite you into my life today and make myself available to you. Help me to become the-best-version-of-myself by seeking your will and becoming a living example of your love in the world. Open my heart to the areas of my life that need to change in order for me to carry out the mission and experience the joy you have imagined for my life. Inspire me to live the Catholic faith in ways that are dynamic and engaging. Show me how to best get involved in the life of my parish. Make our community hungry for best practices and continuous learning. Give me courage when I am afraid, hope when I am discouraged, and clarity in times of decision. Teach me to enjoy uncertainty and lead your Church to become all you imagined it would be for the people of our times. Amen. Source: www.dynamiccatholic.com

It s not uncommon to see deer walking the grounds at this beautiful location. This year s theme is NO GREATER LOVE where the passage from John 3:16, God so loved the world that he gave us his only son comes alive with inspiring talks, daily Mass and quiet one-on-one time with Jesus. Here is an idea that will generate dividends for a life time - take your son, nephew or grandson along with you. It will bring Christ and his message to life.
