GET THE WORD OUT Hear it. Believe it. Live it.

Get the Word out. This well-known phrase takes on new meaning a new sense of urgency as spiritual darkness grows ever more rapidly around us. As their world crumbles, people search for meaning. They yearn for hope. They know there must be more. Yet you and I know there is just one answer to what they seek: Jesus. The Word made flesh. That s why we must get the Word out. But we can t do that without you without your partnership of prayer and support, which will empower the proclamation of the Word to a waiting and hurting world. So please, prayerfully consider the opportunities God is placing before us to get the Word out, which are outlined in the following pages. Thank you and may God richly bless our partnership together. A WORLD DISCONNECTED, DISENCHANTED & DISAPPOINTED We live in the midst of spiritual decay and disorientation. It s a huge problem, but one that comes with an incredible opportunity to provide answers of hope, freedom, and peace. This is where the ministry of Basic Gospel comes in and where your support can make a profound difference. Through your partnership you will be Connecting the Disconnected While we are the most technologically connected society in history, people are isolated and empty. They are disconnected. They yearn to fill the emptiness and find some sort of peace. Being connected to the right One is imperative. He fills the void and gives purpose. It s an eternal life-or-death issue. People need to hear this truth. Encouraging the Disenchanted People have become disenchanted with the Church and Christianity. They are tired and exhausted. Trying to live as a Christian is more of a trial. I ve got nothing left. I prayed. I read my Bible. I promised God I would do better and try harder. Nothing worked. Maybe you have been there yourself. You can belong to a church or be part of a Bible study and miss the whole point of what it means to live the Christian life. If we fail to experience the reality of the abundant life Jesus promised, we have missed the message of the Gospel: Come to Me and rest. People need to believe in Jesus. Inspiring the Disappointed Christians and non-christians are disappointed with themselves. They think they are beyond God s forgiveness and believe they are unworthy of God s love. They live in a bubble of hopelessness, guilt, and shame. This silent burden greatly impacts their identity and impedes friendships and relationships at home and at work. When Christians don t understand forgiveness, they struggle with their assurance of salvation. Unfortunately, many have been taught to perform for, instead of rest in, Jesus. There is only futility in this system. In order to realize the power of forgiveness and assurance, people need to live in Christ alone, by grace alone, through faith alone. So why do people go to Basic Gospel? Because they are looking for answers, for hope, for affirmation for Jesus. Get the Word out.

HEAR IT. BELIEVE IT. LIVE IT. In this time where spiritual confusion is so prevalent, Basic Gospel has put together a plan to Get the Word out so more desperately needy people can connect with Jesus. This strategy is summed up in these three phrases: HEAR IT. Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ (Romans 10:17). Basic Gospel gets the Word out, people hear it, and for many it clicks. When listeners start to grasp the truth that God has done all the work to reconnect with us, the air of confusion begins to dissipate. Our strategy is to continue to proclaim the Gospel through four media platforms: radio, internet, social media, and video. BELIEVE IT. As the author of Hebrews wrote, Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith (Hebrews 12:1b-2). Faith is seeing Jesus and believing that He alone is the way, the truth, and the life. By grace through faith is God s plan, and Basic Gospel brings it into clear focus. LIVE IT. Salvation is receiving and experiencing an altogether new life. It is not a self-improvement program. It is a relationship with Jesus Christ based on His love and truth. It is eternal life lived here and now. Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent (John 17:3). Because we are spiritually alive in Christ, He is empowering us to live in this world as His children. This truly is good news! Abide in Him. Remain in Him. Live in Him. And you will bear fruit. HEAR IT, BELIEVE IT, AND LIVE IT Hear, believe, and live is a process of transformation. It is a spiritual journey of authentic discipleship. Hear the freeing words of Galatians 2:20, The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Our hope and prayer is for people to live this way fully alive in Jesus and fully controlled by the indwelling Holy Spirit. We have measurable goals, along with a strategic and practical initiative that we believe will result in the greatest impact in allowing Basic Gospel to: Expand radio coverage to targeted stations within the top 100 markets. Set up a Basic Gospel video channel featuring 100 Answers to Life s Most Challenging Questions. Obtain 100,000 social media followers through Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and other channels to help get the Word out. Publish and provide valuable resources that include study guides, devotionals, targeted emails, as well as Bob Christopher s new book, Simple Gospel, Simply Grace, for the purpose of connecting others with the love of Christ. Basic Gospel will remain faithful in what God has mandated us to do get the Word out. We are enthusiastically hopeful that as people embrace the Gospel message, they will start the grace conversation with others in their areas of influence. This is not a theory, as the reality of the power of the Gospel in producing disciples can be evidenced in the testimony of Max, one of our Basic Gospel partners, I am currently using your study guide to teach three new believers they are like a sponge their hearts and minds are truly being transformed by our Father s love. Thank you for providing such helpful resources that even those new in Christ are not intimidated by, and are eager to study them. By the way, I want to help get the Word out in 2015. There is an obvious simplicity to our name, but it contains significant depth, truth, freedom, and beauty. Hear it. Believe it. Live it. Basic. It s the place where you start. It is foundational. Having a stable base is essential to building a structure that will last. Basic connotes things of most importance, never to be taken lightly. It transcends all denominational barriers. Basic is paramount and necessary. Basic is good. Gospel. The Gospel is a statement of news. Good News. The Gospel is the truth. It is a story of life and of light in a world of darkness. This is the statement: That Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). When the Gospel connects with human hearts, a transformation occurs. Everything else is imitation. This brings us to the purpose of Basic Gospel. In other words, why do we do the things we do? Why do we exist? Simple. To connect as many people as possible to the life of Jesus Christ. This is the core of Basic Gospel. Basic Gospel will last. It is not a latest fad ministry. We are a media ministry dedicated to proclaiming the name of Jesus Christ and the profound simplicity of His love and grace.
