To our Hadassah Greater Baltimore Family, At our Seder table, we tell the story of our ancestor s journey from slavery to freedom. This year, I would like you to think, especially as modern women in 2017, how far we have come since the inception of Hadassah in 1912 but our work still continues. Think of the women and adolescents who are still enslaved to poverty, disease and violence. So many are still facing discrimination and gender inequality because of lifestyle choices they have made. As Hadassah women, WE are the women who do! WE are the women who can break the cycle and help transform lives. We need to challenge ourselves to take a more active and more meaningful role in our freedom. It is up to each of us to educate one another on why Hadassah s advocay and ground breaking research and trials are so critical for the ENTIRE world. WE are our own best advocates. At Cell-a-brate, we put a face to Multiple Sclerosis, by giving attendees an opportunity to hear the personal heartfelt story from stem cell recipient, Malia Litman. We were so grateful to hear firsthand the true work of Hadassah hospital and the direct impact on the lives of patients like Malia. I looked around the room as Malia addressed us and you could hear a pin drop. Thank you to everyone who supported our event. We are so grateful for your continued devotion to Hadassah and stem cell research. If you were unable to attend, you missed an incredible evening Chaired by Barbara Fink and Jackie Youra. You still have an opportunity to make a difference. (See opposite page 3). Remember: Nothing is too little or too much. 2017 began with a bang (Girls Night Out: Every Beat Counts, Special Guest Speaker from Hadassah Hospital and the Nursing School: Dr. Caryn Andrews, Hershey Spa Day, to name a few) and it has been wonderful seeing so many of you at our recent events! It has been humbling and rewarding as I continue to meet such incredible, passionate and educated women. You make me proud to be your President. Please read through this entire Horizon s.
