Viva Christo Rey! FROM THE DESK OF FR. FALLON This weekend we celebrate the 34 th Sunday of Ordinary Time, also known as the Feast of Christ the King. What s the big deal? As we end Ordinary Time, it s a good time to be reminded of whom we should honor and praise. Our readings have been pointing to the end times; they re connected to the changing of the seasons all around us, the cold, dark, death of winter reminds us of our end, that our kingdom is not of this world. So all the things we hold dear: they re nothing compared to what awaits us in Heaven. Or put another way, You Can t Take It with You! When we allow Jesus to be the king of our hearts, things look a little different: my motivations, aspirations, the way I spend my time we start to order our lives to be connected to Jesus. It s a good time to do so, especially as we prepare for the coming Season of Advent. (Don t forget to sign up for our Day of Recollection on December 8!) Think about Jesus as your friend, savior and King this week. I hope you have a blessed one. FF ADVENT DAY OF RECOLLECTION SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8TH LUNCH & LIGHT REFRESHMENTS WILL BE SERVED NAME PHONE NUMBER NUMBER ATTENDING PLEASE TEAR OFF AND PUT IN THE BASKET IN THE LOBBY!

The Giving Tree is in the lobby of the church through December 8/9. The tree has ornaments with suggested gifts that will be taken to Circle of Concern in Valley Park. The toys will be given to the children throughout the year on their birthdays. Hats, gloves, scarves and blankets or fleece throws are given out throughout the winter. Please consider taking an ornament or two and returning the item UNWRAPPED by the weekend of December 15/16. The ornaments on the tree are only suggestions use your imagination or pick up an extra gift when you are buying for your family. Not a shopper??? Envelopes for cash donations and gift cards will also be on the tree. Suggestions for gift cards are Marshalls, Old Navy, Kohl s, Walmart, Target, Quicktrip, Walgreens, movie theaters and restaurants. Please limit the gift cards to $25 or less and consider buying them through our SCRIP program. The Circle of Concern food pantry provides, not only food, but other services for families in the area. Any questions, please call Jan Krumm 314-578-3329. For more information about Circle of Concern, please go to their website at www.circleofconcern.org. Thank you for your participation!
