Greetings Everyone, As we get into the full swing of the summer this newsletter will be covering both July and August. For the months of July and August I think we all can see them as important months because last year, around this time, you not only decided to call me as your pastor but I also started work and became ordained. Yes by August 2 nd it will be one year since I started as your pastor hear at United Lutheran Church and August 22 nd is my ordination anniversary. For myself it seems the time haves flown by very quickly. In thinking about the previous year I would admit we all have had our ups and downs. However, despite what we may experience we are a community rooted in Christ. As a community in Christ we receive and share Christ support on a daily basis. This support is given and shared in the people we encounter. Whether the people are there to help celebrate a joyous occasion like a baptism or help us mourn over a loss. The support of others coming to support each other is where we find Christ. A community rooted in Christ is not defined by a specific location or specific object but by the people. As we are United Lutheran Church we are the people being drawn together to supporting one another because of our faith in Christ and are thus subsequently being Christ not just for the community but for the world. As your pastor it is an honor and a privilege to lead this community in being Christ for the world. However, I am never alone in this leadership for everyone within the community has the ability to take charge and help. This is a community effort when it comes to the overall care and support of the church. To some extent my job is to help, encourage, and maintain good order for the work that is being done by the congregation. Now granted I probably do a little bit more then that yet at the same time this is as much your church as it is mine. So this means that we are all to work together to be Christ for others in this church community and beyond. For if we are Christ in the world then we have to be in and out within the world. Now as we go out into the world for July and August may God s blessing be upon us all. Sincerely, Sunday, July 2 Sunday, July 9 Monday, July 10 Sunday, July 16 Monday, July 17 Sunday, July 23 Monday, July 24 Sunday, July 30 Monday, July 31 TELLERS for July & August Leann Davis & Mary McCord Margo Jentoft & Need someone Jean Brinkman & Jeannie Gourneau Joan Bugni & Leann Davis Annette Lindstrom & Kris Kokko Leann Davis & Margo Jentoft Sue Copley & Mary McCord Kris Kokko & Need someone Jeannie Gourneau & Sue Copley August Tellers will be scheduled soon!
