Spring Fest was a success, Buggy Day seems likely to draw a big crowd, and many of you went to the RARSFest over Easter weekend. I hear several people talking about purchasing new antennas and towers, and I guess this is the best weather to be installing those things. Unfortunately, I am also hearing one or two horror stories about climbing towers only to discover that the bolts holding it together are either rusted out or nearly broken. Fortunately, no one was hurt --- yet. Please be careful, and when constructing towers, please consider paying for high quality stainless steel nuts and bolts. It will pay off in years to come. When the weather turns nice and daylight gets long it is often hard to sit in front of a radio all day and all night. There are all sorts of competition to our hobby, things like yards and gardens and vacations and visitors and even an occasional television show, still when conditions are good, summer can also provide some great DX. Take a look at web sites like DX Summit every day and you can see what others are hearing, and if you try you might just log some of those same stations. If you know of any hamfest that should be listed and is not, please let me know so it can be included in the next edition. Hamfests need your support and attendance to survive! This month we will be discussing past events such as Buggy Fest and Spring Fest, further plans for Field Day, and our possible participation in the 100 mile run among other things. Prior to the meeting we will meet at Casa Garcia for supper and a bull session, and I am certain someone is planning some sort of instructional session for presentation Continue on page 5

It has been looked into putting up another repeater at the hospital. Need to check with Mark Galyean to see if that option is still available.
