Invitations to Ministry November 2018 Update IMMEDIATE NEEDS: Middle School Ministry has many great opportunities for Encouraging Adult Servants who are willing to invest in the next generation. You can influence students by building relationships, leading small groups or assisting with tech/music/hospitality on Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings. If you love that age there s probably a place for you! Servants who love meeting new people to stroll Main Street between services and assist with directions/questions and be a face of welcome. Servants with the gift of exhortation/encouragement who would like to make two phone calls per week to those recovering/home-bound in our Tele-Care Ministry. Servants to offer assistance to Men of Resolution small groups: Prayer Partners to uphold the needs Event Planning Servant to coordinate and set up our Resolution ceremonies which are small banquets complete with food and beverage. Graphic Design Servants to update/manage Men of Resolution website. Coupon-holding Servants with almost expired or unused coupons for the Zoo or SeaWorld or fun excursions in San Diego County to be shared with visiting missionaries. Transportation Servants to drive/greet for Shuttles and drive Trams transporting worshippers for a shift Saturdays 4:30-5:15 and Sundays 8:30-9:15; 10:15-11:00 Car-sharing Servants - with an extra car willing to loan to a visiting missionary either short/long term. Hospitality-minded Servants to affirm and de-greet at every age level in Children s Ministry for 10-15 minutes after worship services.

Parking Lot Servants to direct traffic Hospitality minded Servants to serve at the Information Desk on Saturday evenings 4:30-5:15 and 15 min afterwards and Sunday Morning 9a entire service. USHER Opportunities all services: Sat 5p Sun 9a; 10:45a; Caregivers in our Nursery on a rotating basis Servants to Kids of all ages by Teaching/Leading/Greeting/Providing safety Computer-Savvy, Book-Loving Servants to assist in the Family Library. Open before and after all weekend services. Greeters in parking lot, doors/aisles all services Ministry-Wide Opportunities CARE TEAMS/ TELE CARE MINISTRIES Servants with mercy gifts to participate in monthly team visitation to local care facilities Servants with patience/listening skills to make 2-3 weekly calls to homebound friends CHILDREN S MINISTRIES Opportunities for Saturday 5p, Sunday 9a, 10:45a Worship Leaders who can lead children through music in a classroom of 20 40 children and/or in a large elementary group with between 100-150 children. Loving Servants -to teach/love/care for a new surge of babies, toddlers and 2 yr. olds through Kindergarten age. Small group leaders to guide a group of pre-school and elementary children in biblical training through conversations and activities. Joyful Greeters to meet and greet families and help to get children checked in to their classroom. Special Needs Servants to teach and assist during the 10:45 service only. AWANA leaders/listeners that encourage children by listening (to verses) and leading them through a fun club night Wednesdays only, 6 8 p.m. (Sept/May) FAMILY MINISTRIES Servant Couples to mentor couples who are preparing for marriage

FIRST IMPRESSIONS Male Servant Shuttle Greeters to greet/assist shuttle passengers on/off Valet Servants to assist in foyer with walker/wheel chair parking/storage during Sunday morning services MISSIONS English Language Program @ the Arabic Campus Tutor Servants for teaching English to recent immigrants from other countries Help ESL students who speak very little English to learn their basics for 1.5 to 3 hours a week. No teaching degree required, just an ability to explain English following the provided curriculum in a clear, patient, and friendly way. BORDER MINISTRY (mostly Mexico) Eager Servants to prepare and care for Gardens that provide Vegetables for an Orphanage and Bible Institute. Skilled and Willing Servants for Construction, Maintenance, and Repairs Outgoing Friendly Servants to Invite and Evangelize in Neighborhoods (we translate and train) Enthusiastic and Loving Servants for children s programs, stories, games Dedicated Servant to help maintain contact with Border Ministry servants INTERNATIONAL MISSIONS Hosts for a meal to welcome our missionaries and to better acquaint yourself so you can pray for them. Teaching Servants with a love of small children to serve at the Arabic Campus Sundays from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. This English-teaching opportunity is with English-speaking children.

EQUIP BIBLICAL INSTITUTE Servant to review documents written in Spanish for typos and grammatical errors. MUSIC MINISTRY Outreach Musicians to audition/interview for orchestra Vocalists to audition/interview for choir Kid-loving Servants to assist with Sunday evening Children s Choir Servants desiring training to better share their faith Servants interested in being trained to use their evangelism gift as an Altar Counseling for weekend services Servants to join teams for weekly follow up on our guest PRAYER MINISTRY Individually Watchman on the Wall Servants willing to pray one hour weekly from their homes for ministry needs Corporately: Prayer Group Saturday mornings at 8a on campus Male Prayer Partners for Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings during the services Women s Prayer Hour 2nd and 4th Mondays 9a Women s Ministry Office PRISON MINISTRIES Team Members for In-Prison Bible Studies All days/evenings of the week Letter Writers to inmate men/women, training available Servants with Evangelism Gift monthly Parolee Orientation Meetings Mentoring/Encouragement Servants to Families of Inmates monthly meetings Pavilion Servants table coverage on Sunday Servants for Angel Tree (kids of Incarcerated parents) Christmas, Camping, Sports Clinics and mentoring.

SMALL GROUPS Small Group Leaders and Hosts to be trained for their own group. Friendly Servants available to welcome/inform Small Group seekers (on the spot training available) at the Small Group table on the patio Saturday evening, or Sunday morning after services for 15 to 20 minutes, rotationally. Friendly Servants available to greet and direct Small Group Leaders to assigned places at Leadership Community Events three times yearly. Office Support: occasional phone calling, and mailing projects typically under 2 hrs. Creative Servants to help with event preparation i.e. crafting centerpieces; room decorations or simple building projects for occasional events. Servants for patio display table set up Saturday before Live@5 or break down after second service Sunday mornings SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SEMINARY Public-loving Servants for the initial touch phone connection with potential students. Winsome personality helpful to help invite their interest in SoCalSem before referring to representative. SPARC - SMCC Sports/Recreation Ministries Coaches to serve and lead teams for various sports and summer camps; K-8 th grade; 1-2 days a week during the season of a specific sport, typically seasons include Saturdays; Summer camps are M-Th; experienced or willing to learn; investing spiritually along with character/skill development Servants who love the sports environment to assist with First Impressions Greet/Snack bar/connect relationally/offer Team Support/Share their faith MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT MINISTRIES Small Group Leaders to build relationships and/or lead Bible studies with middles school students on Sunday 9a and 10:45a. Small Group Co-leader to mentor students and help with a small group.

Wednesday Nights 6:00-8:00p build relationships with the students and hang out with them for Wednesday night Bible Study. Family Connecting Ministry making phone calls to help keep parents informed about Jr. High ministry. Servant Drivers for CREW events who will drive the Grossmont School District bus or the church vans. You must be over 25 to drive, and have a class B license. SENIOR HIGH Sunday Servants willing to find an area of focus and connect with Sr. High students on Sunday mornings at the Gathering @ 9a Wednesday nights from 6-8:00PM lead a small group or co-lead a small group Servant Drivers for Gathering events who will drive the Grossmont School District bus or the church vans. You must be over 25 to drive, and have a class B license. Tech Servants Wednesday nights/sundays TECHNICAL Stage assistance Servants for Worship Center (after Sat. Night Svc.) Technical Assistant for Sunday morning - will wear a communication headset to relay info for Audio Engineer Setup Servants for technical and scenic setup Saturday 5p Service TURNING POINT MINISTRIES Servants who want to make a difference can assemble Packages/Special mailing projects Mon-Fri 7a-5p Register online at: http://www.davidjeremiah.org/site/about/volunteer.aspx WOMEN S MINISTRIES Lady Servants with a heart for children join "Karing 4 Kids", a women s ministry small group watching little ones approximately 3 hours twice a month. (Fall: September - December: Spring: January May). Prayer & fellowship time is a part of this ministry. Come be a part of a service-minded and loving group. Help us grow more young families into our SMCC family by investing in young moms, allowing them to be able to attend a weekday Bible study. Lady Servants who enjoy knitting and/or sewing, you re invited to Needlecrafters, which meets Wednesday mornings. Help make various

ministry projects that include items for missions, new moms in our church, local pregnancy care centers and other special items for those in hospitals/care facilities. YOUNG ADULTS Servants with a heart to mentor, encourage, pray for, and build into young adults seeking mentorship and encouragement. Various times, depending on availability. COLLEGE MINISTRY (ages 18-25) Adult Servants with a heart for college-age adults to serve at Thursday 7p Worship Gathering (Crew Room at Youth Center) by setting up and building relationships. Servant Ministry Vision: Connecting the God-given gifts of SMCC Servants to purposeful service and mission appointments for the glory of God and the good of many.
