Dr. Rick Bentley & Dr. Caryn Vogel Rick Bentley and Caryn Vogel have been involved in the Indianapolis Jewish Community since moving here in 1991. They are the proud parents of Lizzy and Daniel, parents-in-law to Avi and Beth, and extremely proud grandparents of bouncing baby Akiva Moshe. Rick was born in Chicago, Illinois, the second of eight children of Richard and Elizabeth Bentley. He first became connected to Israel while volunteering on a kibbutz for six months following the Yom Kippur War. In 2014 he joined an Israel mission to Siderot during Operation Protective Shield. Rick earned a Master's degree at the University of Chicago and a Doctorate from the University of Michigan in Higher Education and Public Policy and is currently serving as Director of Academic Assessment at Ivy Tech's Indianapolis campus. Rick is active on the board of B'nai Torah, where he is a past president, and the Jewish American Affairs Committee of Indiana (JAACI). He was also one of the organizers of the Indianapolis Eruv Expansion Committee. Caryn is the daughter of holocaust survivors, Agnes Vogel and Mike Vogel zt'l. Most of her early years were spent in small towns where she was often the only Jewish child in her class. After graduating from Indiana University she worked in broadcast journalism for CBS TV in Chicago, before deciding to attend medical school. She is a graduate of Rush Medical College in Chicago and completed a neurology residency and fellowship at the University of Michigan. She has been in practice in Indianapolis since 1991 and has several times been named by peers as a "Top Doctor." Rick and Caryn's home is always open to those in need of a bed for a night or a meal for Shabbat or a Yom Tov. They are always eager to help out in any way they can and always with a smile on their face. Rick and Caryn are true Pillars of Torah in the Indianapolis Jewish Community.

Speaker of the House Mr. Brian Bosma Speaker Brian C. Bosma was first elected in 1986 to represent House District 88, which today encompasses the northeast portion of Marion County, a portion of southern Hamilton County and the western part of Hancock County. Brian is a graduate of the Purdue School of Engineering and Indiana University School of Law. He has practiced law at the Indianapolis firm of Kroger, Gardis & Regas for 30 years. In 2015, Speaker Bosma authored and spearheaded an anti-bds bill that passed almost unanimously through the Indiana General Assembly. The bill, which affirms Indiana's support for the Jewish state of Israel and bars the investment of Indiana public pension funds in entities supporting BDS, was signed into law in May of this year. Israel's ambassador to the U.S. Ron Dermer has since called it "the toughest anti-bds legislation in the nation." Brian is also a strong advocate for school choice and personally championed Indiana s strong charter school system and giving families of limited financial means school choice scholarships. In 2012, Speaker Bosma led the charge to make Indiana the 23rd Right to Work state in the nation, and, in 2013, he and House Republicans championed the passage of the largest tax cut package in state history. He has spearheaded 13 tax cuts in the last decade, while maintaining Indiana s strong reserves and AAA credit rating, making Indiana the fiscal envy of the nation. Brian and Cheryl Bosma have been married for 33 years and are proud parents of Alison (28) and Chris (25). Brian is also a founding director of Bosma Industries for the Blind, which employs over 125 blind and visually impaired Hoosiers statewide.
