Needless to say, the Monsignor did not leave the dining room hungry. His large brown eyes are hard to resist! At my table, as I am sure at yours, we go around and ask each person to mention what they are thankful for! Since we had already thanked God for the food, we move on from there. For me my list of things I am most thankful for (after The Monsignor and the food) is my family of St. Therese. This is my 16 th year being the Pastor of an East End Parish (prior to St. Therese I was Pastor of St. Agnes (the Un- Cathedral) in Greenport for 12 years. I moved from the last Parish on the northfork to the last Parish on the Southfork (or the first parish if you consider the beginning of the day and sunrise.). There is a certain family sense of belonging to the East End parishes. I think it may be the change in the seasons, not the weather changes but the change in population. Those of us who are year rounders enjoy the quiet streets and lack of traffic. You seem to recognize everyone you see at the Post Office or eating at what restaurants are open for this I am thankful. I am grateful you have welcomed me as one of you own. Our next family gathering will be our annual JINGLE BELL HOP at Salivar s on Dec. 7 th. Make it a Communion Dance! Come to the 5:00 Mass for the Holy Day and then you can sleep late on Saturday morning! Advent is on its way! Fr. Tom & The Monsignor

Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe CHRIST IS KING On the final Sunday of the liturgical year we celebrate the feast of Christ the King. It s easy to understand today s scriptures as events that happened long ago and far away, or predictions that will come true somewhere, some day. But they invite us to claim Christ as our King here and now. Jesus words to Pilate in the Gospel remind us that his kingdom transcends time and place. And the prophecies from Daniel and Revelation give us reason to be faithful to Christ our King right here and right now. By concluding the year with this feast we are proclaiming our faith that Jesus Christ is the one and only King over all seasons, all peoples, and all of creation. No matter what nation we belong to or what language we speak, he has made us into a kingdom (Revelation 1:6) one people united in love and peace for all eternity. Copyright J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.
