But he didn t start out having love for Jesus. In fact, Paul hated Jesus followers for a long time. Before Paul became a follower of Jesus, his name was Saul, and he was a religious leader called a Pharisee. This was one of the groups of people who always argued with Jesus during His ministry. Saul punished Christians for believing that Jesus was the Son of God. However, God had other plans for Saul. One day, Saul was traveling with a group of men on the road that led to Damascus. Suddenly, he saw a bright light shining down from heaven. It was so bright that it blinded Saul. That light was Jesus calling to him from heaven. Immediately after that encounter, Saul s life was changed. He dedicated the rest of his life to spreading the Good News of Jesus throughout the Roman Empire. He wrote many of the New Testament books, which originally were letters sent to Christians in different regions.
Lesson 2 Bible Quiz: True or False Determine whether the statement is true or false. If false, rewrite the sentence to make it true. 1. Coveting something means to want something that someone else has in a jealous way. 2. The conflicts we have between each other come from God s will. 3. We can be both a friend of the world and a friend of God. 4. God doesn t like for people to be too proud. 5. If we resist the devil, he will go away from us. When we pray, it is easy to get caught up in simply asking God for things that we want, such as a new video game or tickets to a concert. Sometimes we forget to think about the important things God wants to give us, such as love for others or wisdom to understand His Word. God wants us to desire the things that are in His will and that are important to Him. This doesn t mean that God doesn t want you going to concerts. He wants you to enjoy life, but He also wants you to desire things that matter to Him and His mission. Instead of asking for something that will only bring pleasure to you, think about things in your life that really need prayer. Do you have a sick family member or friend? Ask God to give that person healing. Does your parent need a new job? Pray for your parent to find a new job. God will give us things that make us happy, but He wants to care about what really matters to us and to Him.
Lesson 3 Bible Quiz: Maze What pops in your head when you imagine someone proclaiming something? Dictionaries define this word to mean declaring something that one considers important or that they are passionate about. So, when we proclaim Christ, we aren t just telling people about Jesus, we are telling them in a convincing way that shows our love for and belief in Him. No, you don t have to stand up on a table in the middle of your school s lunch room and start preaching. But it does mean that you should be looking for opportunities to tell as many people as you can about Jesus in an exciting and persuasive way. Remember, you are telling someone about the greatest Gift they ever could receive! Believe that and own that when you are talking to your friends or family about Jesus.
Lesson 4 Bible Quiz: Multiple Choice Complete the phrase with the correct answer. 1. We should think of others than ourselves. a. smaller b. worse c. better d. faster 2. We should not look out for interests. a. our b. others c. God s d. good 3. Jesus showed what looks like. a. anger b. humility c. punishment d. doubt 4. At the name of, every knee will bend in worship. a. earth b. Abraham c. Jesus d. Buddha 5. God Jesus above every other name. a. exalted b. quieted c. destroyed d. lowered Showing humility can seem like a hard task. We may feel as if we have to go out of our way to show our humility to others, such as giving the bigger bedroom to your sibling when you move to a new house. While it is great to show humility to others in a big way, God wants you to focus on all ways you can show your humility. Simple things like opening the door for someone or giving the best seat at the movies to someone who can t see well are just a few things that we can do to show our humility. God wants us to put others first because that is what He did for us. He showed us how much He loved us in a big way by dying on the cross for our sins. Jesus also put others first during His earthly life by helping others, healing the sick, and feeding the hungry. We should follow His example and look for ways to put the needs of others before our own.
Lesson 5 Bible Quiz: Cross Word Across 4. What we have in Jesus as our Savior 5. What Paul wanted to share with Christ in Down 1. What comes as a result of our faith 2. What Paul says we should press on toward 3. What our own achievements are worth Have you been baptized? If you have, the person baptizing you may have said something like I baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Buried like Christ (being lowered into the water) and resurrected into new of life (being brought out of the water). Jesus was resurrected from the grave. He died, but came back to life to complete the mission of saving us from our sins. He no longer had the weight of the world s sins on His shoulders as He had on the cross. When we become followers of Jesus, the same thing happens to us, and our baptism symbolizes that.

While this is a great thing to do, praise doesn t always have to occur at church. God doesn t want us to think that praise is simply a ritual or routine. We should praise the Lord throughout each day. It doesn t have to be loud or done with a group of people. For instance, if you make a good grade on a test, take a second as you re walking through school and whisper a prayer of praise and thanks to God. If you see a beautiful sunset as you are going home from school, pause to tell God what an amazing Creator He is. God hears our moments of quiet praise just as He hears our praises on Sunday mornings. Find times to privately praise God and watch your personal relationship with the Lord grow even deeper.
Lesson 7 Bible Quiz: True or False Determine whether the statement is true or false. If false, rewrite it so the sentence is true. 1. The God s enemies are not afraid of Him. 2. Praising the Lord should only be done in a church. 3. In one way or another, all of God s creation reflects His glory. 4. We should remember the things God has done for us and praise Him for those things. 5. Our praise should motivate us to reach out to those who do not know the Lord. Seeing someone who is happy about a blessing that has come into their lives gives us hope and encourages our faith. We should remember to rejoice over the blessings that God gives us because it is a great way to express to others that something good has happened by an act of God. It can take away feelings of jealousy that may occur if we simply brag about the good thing that has happened to us. Rejoice with others when good things happen to them, too. If God answers their prayer for something, allow that to fill you with hope and encouragement for things that you are praying about. We can rejoice in God s blessings when we re alone, but it feels good to rejoice with others. Many people in the Bible poured out their hearts to God in gratitude for what He had done for them. What are some ways you can better express your thanks to God?
Lesson 8 Bible Quiz: Maze When God created us, He made us in His image. God created His angels to do many different things for Him. Some are His warriors that fight against evil in order to protect us and keep us out of harm. Other angels are messengers that deliver God s messages through different ways. Sometimes those messages come straight from the angel, like Gabriel announcing Jesus birth. Angels are always doing the Lord s will because they understand how holy and powerful He is. Throughout the Bible, angels are shown praising and worshiping God, just as we do. One day, we will worship God alongside the angels.
Lesson 9 Bible Quiz: Multiple Choice Complete the phrase with the correct answer. 1. Jesus was at the home of a a. King b. Pharisee c. Lord d. Duke 2. The guest at the party thought that they were than the rest. a. worse b. smellier c. better d. poorer 3. Jesus said that we should the poor and sick to our events. a. invite b. discourage c. disinvite d. not allow 4. God wants us to show to all people. a. sickness b. hatred c. embarrassment d. hospitality 5. God us when we think of others first. a. laughs at b. rewards c. hates d. ignores Every culture has a form of hospitality no matter where they live in the world. They may invite others over to eat with us and serve them without expecting anything in return, or they may simply let someone take the better seat in the car. Whatever the cultural norms are may be, Jesus wants us to exercise hospitality to everyone. Have you ever considered showing hospitality to your family? A good way to do this is to voluntarily do the dishes after dinner one night or vacuum the house without being told. Show your family that you put their needs before your own. Invite your friends to come over and play video games and give them the best controller. These simple acts of hospitality can be influential to others and make them feel God s love.
Lesson 10 Bible Quiz: Cross Word Across 3. A disciple of Jesus who was Andrew's brother 4. People who follow and study God 5. A man who had two sons who were disciples of Jesus Down 1. A disciple of Jesus who was Simon's brother 2. The sea where Jesus found Andrew and Simon The disciples Jesus chose were not picked at random. Jesus knew exactly who He was choosing to be a part of His ministry. To the world, the people He chose did not exactly stand out as special people. Most of them were fishermen, common laborers, and one was even a tax collector. By choosing these men, Jesus was showing that normal people can be God s disciples. When we tell others about Jesus, we shouldn t talk only to people who are important or are our friends. We should remember that God can use anyone to spread His Gospel. So we should tell anyone who is willing to listen. But creating disciples for Jesus doesn t just stop once they choose to follow Him. Like Jesus, we should go alongside new Christians and help mentor and grow their faith. You may find that your faith will also grow as you create disciples for Jesus.

Have you ever been forced to tell someone you re sorry for what you did, even though in your heart you were not sorry at all? Maybe you went back and did the exact thing you said you were sorry for. This is a bad habit to get into, especially for Christians. When we become Christians, we are called to repent of our sins. Repenting is turning from sinful ways and telling God you are sorry while truly meaning it. You should make every effort not to sin. When you do sin as a Christian, you should repent of that sin and not commit it again. After we become Christians, we repent to show God that we are sorry, but God has already forgiven us of that sin. Repentance is important because it reminds us not to sin, and it reminds us of the love Jesus gives us. So the next time you sin, tell the Lord you are sorry, and use it as a reminder to not sin again.
Lesson 12 Bible Quiz: True or False Determine whether the statement is true or false. If false, rewrite it so the sentence is true. 1. Everyone in the community loved Zacchaeus. 2. Jesus was passing through on his way to Rome when he met Zacchaeus. 3. Zacchaeus climbed in a sycamore tree to see Jesus. 4. Jesus scolded Zacchaeus because of the money he had stolen as a tax collector. 5. Zacchaeus promised to repay back up to four times what he had taken from others. Zacchaeus was an extremely wealthy man who worked for the Roman government as a tax collector. However, people knew that Zacchaeus was a dishonest man because, like all the tax collectors of his day. He would over charge people more than what they owed on their taxes and keep the extra for himself. This is why people called him a sinner and were upset when Jesus picked him out to go hang out with. But Jesus knew that even a greedy, wealthy man like Zacchaeus needed a chance at redemption. By going to Zacchaeus house and eating with him, Jesus was showing the world exactly who He came for. Jesus was here to forgive the sins of those who needed it, not to hang out with the most righteous and holy people. Like Jesus, we should share His Good News of salvation with those who need to hear it. Hanging out with Christians is what we should do, but we also should take time to seek those who are lost and tell them about Jesus.
Lesson 13 Bible Quiz: Maze Like Zacchaeus, Matthew was also a tax collector before he became a follower of Jesus. Matthew was searching for something more in life than stealing from people on their taxes. As soon as Jesus invited Matthew to go with Him, he immediately followed. Matthew wrote the Gospel of Matthew, which is similar to two other Gospels, Mark and Luke. But Matthew s book is unique because it shows the Jewish traditions of Jesus, beginning with His lineage. Matthew wrote this book to show his Jewish brothers and sisters that Jesus was the Messiah they had been waiting on. Jesus called Matthew and went to his house to visit with him and other sinners (Matthew 9:9 13). Jesus changed Matthew s life and the lives of many others who would come to read Matthew s account of the life of Jesus.
