Welcome to Mission Church of the Nazarene! We are delighted that you have chosen to check us out. You will find opportunities in ministry whether you are single, a young adult, a family or enjoying the age of maturity. I believe that Mission Church is a place that you will not only belong, but you will find to be a community where you will be loved and accepted for who you are. You will notice we are investing in youth and children by staffing with a top-notch team of pastoral staff. Our focus is simple: to make disciples by teaching biblical principles that equip our kids to live out their faith. Our pastors are in touch with the current trends and culture that young people face today. They are fantastic at relating biblical truths that help kids negotiate the obstacles of living life in these challenging times. We care about your family. Mission Communities are our chosen way of providing community and discipleship. Our teams are very excited about including you in their small groups. So please take a moment to browse through our Mission Community options on one of the following pages of this brochure. You belong here. Welcome to our community! Tony R. Miller, Lead Pastor Church of the Nazarene Statement of Faith WE ARE ALL SINNERS We believe that we are all sinners by both nature and act, and need God s forgiveness and cleansing. We believe that God has enabled us to turn from sin, but has not forced us to do so. We believe that each person must repent, turn away from their sin, and trust in Christ to accept him. FORGIVENESS We believe that when we turn from sin and trust in Christ, the old record of sin is wiped clean, and we are born anew, thus becoming a part of the family of God. We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross and that by trusting in his death, we can be restored to a right relationship with God. THE POWER OF THE CHURCH AND THE BIBLE We believe the bible is the word of God, giving us all we need to know about how to be saved. We believe that the church is the body of Christ, carrying on His mission through the power of the Holy Spirit. THE TRINITY We believe in one God, the creator of all things, who reveals himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in Jesus Christ, and at the same time, is fully God who became like us to bring about our salvation. We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is active in the world, bringing us salvation. BAPTISM & COMMUNION We believe in baptism and urge people to be baptized as Christians. We believe in the Lord s Supper. Ministry Staff 2018/2019 Board Members HEALING IN CHRIST We believe that God can heal. We pray for healing. We also believe that He can work through medical science. New Beginnings Class is designed for those who are new to faith in Jesus, or for those who want to experience a fresh start in their journey. You can receive Jesus Christ now. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God (John 1:12) Will you pray this prayer? Lord Jesus, I want to have life. I know that I have sinned. I need your forgiveness and pardon. I believe that you died and rose again for my sins. I now accept you as my personal savior. I will forsake my sinful life. I know that your grace and power will enable me to live for you. Thank you, Jesus, for saving me and giving me a new life. Weekly Worship @ Mission Church of the Nazarene Sunday Mornings Stewardship We give to God because He has already given to us. We bless God because He has already blessed us. He is no poorer if we fail to tithe, but we are impoverished. He is no poorer if we do tithe, but we are enriched. Tithing is rewarded, for God rewards all obedience to His Word. But we do not give in order to get; we give because we have received. - Dr. William E. We provide activities that enable each child to develop, explore, and discover. All children are special, and they deserve our respect and our best effort to guide them as they develop and grow. We foster self-confidence and creativity in a safe, Christian environment. 5 5 + Group As a people of faith in Jesus Christ, we are PASSIONATE about serving the needs of Mission Church s growing 55+ population and helping them thrive. There are two kinds of people in the world; those who are 55+ and those who are going to be, says Pastor Chuck Swindoll. We are in the midst of one of the most earth-shaking demographic movements in the history of America. Every 8 seconds someone turns 55 and every day 5,000 people turn 65. Our culture is facing the challenges and opportunities of an aging population. Mission Church Page 8 Pastor Robert Churchman Senior Adult Ministries
