Rothermel age 81 passed away on Wednesday May 25, 2011 at the Pope County Care Center Golconda. Funeral services will be at 3:30 P.M. Wednesday June 1, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church Broadlands with the Rev. John Sharp officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery Broadlands. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:30 P.M. Wednesday at the church. Freese Funeral Home 302 E. Grand St. Joseph is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Rothermel was born November 23, 1929 at Sidell the daughter of Ernest and Piccola Leisure Guthrie. She married Kenneth J. Rothermel on February 15, 1948 at Allerton. He preceded her on March 11, 2007. She is survived by daughters Joann Stahl of Savoy, Sharon(Bob)Buchanan of Herod. Son David(Susan)Rothermel of Bradenton, Fl. Grandchildren Jennifer(Todd)Buchanan of Golconda, Steven(Jenn)Ambler of Tampa, Fl, Trisia Rothermel of Champaign, Christine Rothermel of Urbana. Great grandchildren Morgan Buchanan, Cydni Buchanan Ella Lam Ambler. Step-grandchildren Barry Buchanan of Paducah, KY, Brent(Ericia)Hotsinpiller of Charleston, Jana(Don)Nacino of Homer Glen. Two step-grandchildren Elisabeth and Nathan Nacino of Homer Glen. One Brother Wilbur(Agnes)Guthrie of St. Joseph. Mrs. Rothermel was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church Broadlands. She enjoyed spending winters in Clewiston, Fl. She liked tending her flower gardens and painting. She went to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church Golconda the past three years. Memorials can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Immanuel Lutheran Church Broadlands.
