Due to special circumstances (like the construction material of our ceiling...what were they thinking?), the project needed to be rescheduled to this week. Since preparations of scaffolding and removal of pews are necessary, we will not be able to use the Church at all for the week of August 6th. This means no one will be permitted to enter the Church for any reason (with the exception of the Thompson team who is painting). Out of respect, we will even need to remove the Blessed Sacrament to the rectory chapel. I do not like making this decision, but to keep everyone safe and to help give the professionals the chance to do what they need to do, it needs to be done. BUUUUT, we are still blessed. For so many years our parish celebrated every Mass and funeral in what we now call the school gym...that was the only Church we had. So guess what...it s time to celebrate our 70th Anniversary by returning to our old home. This week we will be offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass only at 8:15 a.m. in the old church /school gym. (We will not be able to offer a 6:30 p.m. Mass during this coming week.) Don t worry about next weekend s Masses, we will be back in the Church building, as we return to normal. Since yesterday (4th) we celebrated the feast day of the patron of diocesan priests, St. John Vianney, please pray for our seminarians who are preparing to return to the seminary. Pray for their joy and their will to be His. Pray, too, on St. Clare of Assisi s feast (11th) by reading one of her writings (all found online). This Sunday (5th) consider being a part of the diocesan FEST held at the seminary. Tens of thousands will be there for a sharing of faith and Sacraments, even an outdoor evening Mass at 8:00 p.m (roughly). I will not be able to be there this year, but I hope you will! Next Sunday, August 12th, is our companion saint to St. Francis de Sales, St. Jane Frances de Chantal. Our Parish Pastoral Council will be offering a celebration following the 11:00 a.m. with ice cream sundaes and crepes. Head on down to celebrate our other patron at the pavilion. Pax, Fr. Bline
