Organ Prelude Ave Maria Gerald Near (b. 1942) Entrance Procession Introit: Salve Sancta Parens Graduale Romanum Salve sancta Parens, enixa puerpera Regem, qui caelum terramque regit in saecula saeculorum, alleluia, alleluia. Ps. Eructavit cor meum verbum bonum: dico ego opera mea regi. Hail holy Mother, the Child-Bearer who has brought forth the King, who rules heaven and earth forever, alleluia, alleluia. Ps. My heart overflows with a goodly theme; I address my works to the Lord. (Sedulius; Psalm 44/45: 2, 11, 12) -2-

Kyrie eleison Gloria in excelsis -3-

Collect Liturgy of the Word First Reading Numbers 6: 22-27 The LORD said to Moses: "Speak to Aaron and his sons and tell them: This is how you shall bless the Israelites. Say to them: The LORD bless you and keep you! The LORD let his face shine upon you, and be gracious to you! The LORD look upon you kindly and give you peace! So shall they invoke my name upon the Israelites, and I will bless them." Lector: The word of the Lord. Response: Thanks be to God. -4-

Responsorial Psalm Psalm 67: 2-3, 5, 6, 8 May God have pity on us and bless us; may he let his face shine upon us. So may your way be known upon earth; among all nations, your salvation. R. May God bless us in his mercy. May the nations be glad and exult because you rule the peoples in equity; the nations on the earth you guide. R. May God bless us in his mercy. May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you! May God bless us, and may all the ends of the earth fear him! R. May God bless us in his mercy. Second Reading Galatians 4: 4-7 Brothers and sisters: When the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to ransom those under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. As proof that you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!" So you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son then also an heir, through God. Lector: The word of the Lord. Response: Thanks be to God. Alleluia In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets; in these last days, he has spoken to us through the Son. (Hebrews 1: 1-2) -5-

Holy Gospel Luke 2: 16-21 Homily Priest: The Lord be with you. Response: And with your spirit. Priest: A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke. Response: Glory to you, O Lord. The shepherds went in haste to Bethlehem and found Mary and Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger. When they saw this, they made known the message that had been told them about this child. All who heard it were amazed by what had been told them by the shepherds. And Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart. Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, just as it had been told to them. When eight days were completed for his circumcision, he was named Jesus, the name given him by the angel before he was conceived in the womb. Priest: The Gospel of the Lord. Response: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. Profession of Faith The Nicene Creed I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, [bow] and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. -6-

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen. Prayer of the Faithful Offertory Lector: Let us pray to the Lord. Response: Lord, hear our prayer. Liturgy of the Eucharist -7-

Sanctus Offertorium: Felix namque es Graduale Romanum Felix namque es, sacra Virgo Maria, et omni laude dignissima: quia ex te ortus est sol justitiae, Christus Deus noster. Blessed are you, O holy Virgin Mary, and worthy of all praise; for from you came forth the sun of justice, Christ our God. (Ancient antiphon in honor of Our Lady) Missa XVIII Mysterium Fidei Amen -9-

Our Father Agnus Dei Communion Procession Guidelines for Receiving Communion Catholics in full communion with the Church, who are properly disposed to receive Communion, not conscious of grave sin and who have typically fasted for at least one hour, are invited to come forward to receive the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ through the participation in Holy Communion. We welcome our fellow Christians to this celebration of the Eucharist as our brothers and sisters. Because Catholics believe that the celebration of the Eucharist is a sign of the reality of the oneness of faith, life, and worship, members of those churches with whom we are not yet fully united are not ordinarily admitted to Holy Communion. Members of the Orthodox Churches, the Assyrian Church of the East, and the Polish National Catholic Church are urged to respect the discipline of their own Churches. The Roman Catholic Church does not object to the reception of Communion by Christians of these Churches. We pray for the full visible unity among all Christians. Communio: Exsulta filia Sion with Psalm 33/34 Graduale Romanum Exsulta filia Sion, lauda filia Jerusalem: ecce Rex tuus venit sanctus et Salvator mundi. \ Rejoice, O daughter of Zion, sing praise O daughter of Jerusalem; behold, your king comes, the Holy One, the Savior of the world. (Zechariah 9: 9) -10-

Anthem to the Blessed Virgin Mary Post Communion Collect Final Blessing & Dismissal Priest: The mass is ended, go in peace. Response: Thanks be to God. -11-

The Saint Michael Prayer Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits, who prowl throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen. Priest: Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, All: Have mercy on us. (3 x) Organ Postlude Fugue on From Heaven Above to Earth I Come J. S.
