Glow Winter Arts Festival HEIRS AND GRACES Music, Art and History in a Heritage Setting Performances to be presented Monday 18 August through Friday 22 August at 6pm for 45 minutes Monday August 18: Organ plus Strings Featuring: Glenferrie String Quartet & Christopher Cook Features part of Bach s magnificent Art of Fugue and his keyboard concerto in d, with complementary works by Massenet, Saint-Saens and Mozart. Tuesday August 19: Poetry & Piano A program of poetry reflecting War & Peace, interspersed with piano music, prepared and read by members of the parish with piano music by Beethoven, Bartok and Schubert performed by Christopher Cook, pianoforte. Wednesday August 20: St George s Organ Scholar - James Field - Junior Organ Scholar Fresh from his triumph as Winner of the organ section of the Warrnambool Eisteddfod, James Field presents his complete VCE organ program. Works by Bach, Brahms, Clerambault, Howells, Langlais, Mendelssohn Friday August 22: Cabaret Hour Place: St George s Parish Hall Soloists Cara Richards, Suzie Hill and Matt Hadgraft from the parish choir present vibrant show tunes and cabaret items. CONGRATULATIONS Well done James Field, St George s Junior Organ Scholar. James recently won First Prize in the organ section of Warrnambool Eisteddfod. Chris Cook is James teacher. It is a delight to know that a new generation is becoming skilled in this key area of our worship. This week James came especially to demonstrate the organ to a Lauriston Grade 3 class who were visiting the Church and the local Synagogue as part of learning about the world s religions.
