Join Us in Worship and Service! St. David's is devoted to inviting, equipping, and sending out our members to be the Lord s light to the world. We invite through welcoming hospitality. We equip by helping members develop a deeper walk with Jesus. We send out by providing organization and opportunities for members to get involved in serving their community. These programs are designed to help us grow closer to the Lord and to one another. If there s a class or adult forum topic you would like to see offered, please contact one of us with your ideas. Beginning January 6, 2019 we will be studying the Book of Romans. Potluck Dinner and Movie January 11: Dinner begins at 5 pm, bring a dish to pass, movie after dinner! Do Not Miss This Movie: I AM is an utterly engaging and entertaining non-fiction film that poses two practical and provocative questions: what s wrong with our world, and what can we do to make it better? The filmmaker behind the inquiry is Tom Shadyac, one of Hollywood s leading comedy practitioners and the creative force behind such blockbusters as Ace Ventura, Liar Liar, The Nutty Professor, and Bruce Almighty. However, in I AM, Shadyac steps in front of the camera to recount what happened to him after a cycling accident left him incapacitated, possibly for good. Though he ultimately recovered, he emerged with a new sense of purpose, determined to share his own awakening to his prior life of excess and greed, and to investigate how he as an individual, and we as a race, could improve the way we live and walk in the world. 3

Adult Programs for Lent 2019 Parish Book Study This year we will be reading: AMERICA S ORIGINAL SIN: Racism, White Privilege and the Bridge to a New America by Jim Wallis If Christians, especially white Christians, read this book, they will experience a real conversion, and the fruit of that conversion could bring healing to deep wounds in the soul of our nation. Such a conversion could also save lives lives truly matter. Brian McLaren Books will be available in the Narthex in February or you can purchase one on your own. Please mark your calendar for Sunday, April 28, after the 10 am service, to share your thoughts and feelings as you have read the book.
