Choir: Introlt As I walked down the road at set of sun, The lambs were coming homewards, one by one. I heard a sheepbell softly calling them, Along the little road to Bethlehem Beside an open door, as I drew nigh, I heard sweet Mary sing a lullaby. She sang about the lambs at close of day. And rocked her tiny King among the hay. Across the air the silver sheepbell rang. "The lambs are coming home," sweet Mary sang. "Your star of gold, your star of gold is shining in the sky. So sleep, my little King, go lullaby." Welcome As I walked down the road at set of sun. The lambs were coming homewards, one by one. I heard a sheepbell softly calling them. Along the little road to Bethlehem Michael Head / Margaret Rose Carols O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant! Choir There's a song to be sung today. It's the story most compelling Of a mother mild with infant child In a stable dwelling. There's a song to be sung today, Of the shepherds' joyful wonder; As the keep their flocks at dead of night, They see a most amazing sight: The sky above them fills with light! And the world will never be the same again: When angels sing, angels sing. When angels sing their song on Christmas Day. There's a star in the sky tonight, It's an astronomic marvel; It's a star that shines for three wise men. As it lights the path that carries them To the little town of Bethlehem! And the world will never be the same again... There's a song in my heart today. It's a song of peace and glory. When the love of God to earth came down In the Christmas story. But the song isn't always heard. It can often be forgotten. But with every friendship we revive. Every Joy we share and tear we dry. The angels' song is kept alive! So hear the angels sing, hear the angels sing. Hear the angels sing their song on Christmas Day. Angels sing their song. Their song on Christmas Day. Roy Rashbrook 2nd Reading The birth of Jesus Luke 2:1-14

Martin Shaw 5th Reading Carol To us a Son is given Isaiah 9:1-7 ^ It came upon the midnight clear, that glorious song of old, from angels bending near the earth to touch their harps of gold: 'Peace on earth, goodwill to men, from heaven's all-gracious King!' The world in solemn stillness lay to hear the angels sing.
2 Still through the cloven skies they come, with peaceful wings unfurled; and still their heavenly music floats o'er all the weary world. Above its sad and lowly plains they bend on hovering wing; and ever o'er its Babel sounds the blessed angels sing. Choir: verse 3 ^ O ye, beneath life's crushing load, whose forms are bending low; who toil along the climbing way with painful steps and slow; look now, for glad and golden hours come swiftly on the wing: O rest beside the weary road, and hear the angels sing. ^ For lo! the days are hastening on, by prophets seen of old, when, with the ever-circling years, shall come the time foretold; when the new heaven and earth shall own the Prince of Peace, their King, and the whole world send back the song which now the angels sing. Arthur SuUhrzn Address Simon Scott ^The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. ^ Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this. Isaiah 9:2,6-7
Choir Deep in the cold of winter, Darkness and silence were eve'rywhere; Softly and clearly, there came through the stillness a wonderful sound, A wonderful sound to hear. All bells in paradise i heard them ring. Sounding in majesty the news that they bring; All bells in paradise i heard them ring, Welcoming our Saviour, born on earth, a heavenly King. All bells in paradise, I heard them ring, 'Glory to God on high' the angel voices sing. Lost in awe and wonder. Doubting I asked what this sign might be; Christ, our Messiah, revealed in a stable, A marvellous sight, a marvellous sight to see. All bells in paradise i heard them ring, Sounding in majesty the news that they bring; All bells in paradise / heard them ring. Welcoming our Saviour, born on earth, a heavenly King. He comes down in peace, A child in humility. The keys to his kingdom belong to the poor; Before him shall kneel the kings with their treasures. Gold, incense, and myrrh. All bells in paradise I heard them ring. Sounding in majesty the news that they bring; All bells in paradise I heard them ring. Welcoming our Saviour, born on earth, a heavenly King. All bells in paradise, / heard them ring, 'Glory to God on high' the angel voices sing. The angel voices sweetly sing. John Rutter Carol Solo: verse 1 ^ Once in royal David's city stood a lowly cattle shed, where a mother laid her baby in a manger for his bed; Mary was that mother mild, Jesus Christ her little child. Choir: verse 2 ^ He came down to earth from heaven who is God and Lord of all, and his shelter was a stable, and his cradle was a stall;
with the poor and mean and lowly lived on earth our Saviour holy. Women: verse 3 ^And through all his wondrous childhood he would honour and obey, love and watch the lowly maiden, in whose gentle arms he lay: Christian children all must be mild, obedient, good as he. Men: verse 4 "^For he is our childhood's pattern, day by day like us he grew; he was little, weak and helpless, tears and smiles like us he knew; and he feeleth for our sadness, and he shareth in our gladness. AU And our eyes at last shall see him, through his own redeeming love; for that child so dear and gentle is our Lord in heaven above; and he leads his children on to the place where he is gone. All Not in that poor lowly stable, with the oxen standing by, we shall see him; but in heaven, set at God's right hand on high; when like stars his children crowned all in white shall wait around.
