A MESSAGE FROM PGK - BURNIE VAUGHN Brother Knights! I thank you for all the support you have shown to me as the Grand Knight of the Robert M. Nolan Council #759. The officers, directors and chairmen I worked with the last two years have been excellent people to serve with. I will treasure these years forever. We have elected a really good team of officers for the upcoming year I look forward to working with them for the upcoming years. I have grown from my experience as Grand Knight, in many ways to numerous to mention. Carol and I have made lifelong friends along the way. I truly appreciate the Priests, Deacons, religious and the ladies who work in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church business office and Principal Kay Burrell and all of her staff. I also want to thank the Squires organization for their service and respect I was always shown when attending one of their meetings. I am proud to have been the Grand Knight for the Fraternal Organization of the Knights of Columbus and their families. Carol and I want to thank you for your confidence in allowing me to serve... After Mass District Deputy Ken Baker installed the new officer's for Council 759. An Honor Guard was provided by our Sir Knight Brothers from the San Juan Diego Assembly. Ladies Appreciation: With the song, "The Yellow Rose of Texas" playing softly in the background each of our ladies was presented with a yellow rose by their husband and escorted to their seats. Grand Knight Burnie Vaughn told the ladies, we honor you tonight for all the contributions that you have made in our lives, to our family, supporting us in our faith journey, supporting us as Knights of Columbus. We acknowledge that without your loving support we would not be the men we are today. Dinner: Monsignor Hart lead us in the blessing of the meal. It was another wonderful meal prepared by Rob Schill and the Council 759 Catering team. A Message from the Clergy Monsignor Hart, Father Jim, Father Dennis and Deacon Nelson. After dinner the clergy of the parish addressed the Grand Knight thanking him for his efforts over the last two years and for the support that the Council and the Knights have given to the Parish in so many different capacities. A Message from State Representative Brother Giovanni Capriglione Giovanni told us that Burnie has also an plays important role in the community in addition to his role of Grand Knight. He recapped the Pro-Life struggle in the Capital with Wendy Davis and her abortion supporters. His important message was VOTE!!! Your vote counts and it means something. Important issues have been have been decided by a only a vote and your vote could be that vote. Grand Knight Appreciation:

Worthy Grand Knight Burnie Vaughn commenced the proceedings with humor and wit that would challange any MC I've seen. He announced the following recognition awards for service to the Council. The Life Time Achievement Award called The Tom Garvin Award, awarded to Brother Sir Knight Gerry Asher. The Knight of the Year, 2014, awarded to Deputy Grand Knight Brother SK Sean N. Arrossa. The Family of the Year, 2014, awarded to Brother SK Brock and Lady Sandy Childress. The Officer of the Year, 2014. Recorder awarded to Brother Daniel F. Cleary, Jr. The Director of the Year, 2014. Community Director awarded to Brother SK Robert E. (Bob) Hennessey. The Chairman of the Year, 2014. Burrito Chairman awarded to Brother SK Chris D. Woolbright At the end of the recognition awards the trustees and Past Grand Knights recognized Burnie for his service, his accomplishments and his stewardship of Council 759 for the last two years presenting him a plaque with his gavel attached. They also presented Lady Carol with a beautiful flower arrangement for her unwavering support of her husband and the Council. The evening ended with a standing ovation for our out going Grand Knight.

UPCOMING EVENTS July 13th - Sunday Burrito Sunday - Cooks at 5:00AM, Rollers at 6:00AM and we really need sellers after all Masses if you can help out for 15 minutes after Mass it will help us optimize our sales. July 17th - Thursday Monthly Council 759 Officers Meeting 7:00PM at KC Hall. All Knights in good standing are invited to attend. July 26th - Saturday HELP NEEDED Council Workday will be Saturday, July 26 at 8am to 12p. List of chores and tasks are: Need to correct drainage on the south end of the patio. This will include some digging and replacement of the drainage grate. Need to move wood pile as it covers the drainage spout. The tree in the front of the hall needs to be trimmed off of the roof. The shrubs need to be trimmed in the front of the hall. St Michael needs to be weeded and mulched Concrete pavers have to be installed from the patio walk way to the black top in the rear of the hall. If you have any experience or specialty in any of these tasks, please show up to help. July 26th - Saturday The next Saturday of Prayer will be at 8:30 AM. We'll be meeting at the Pius XII Center (PCC) (Formation Building), 8:00 AM on Saturday to go as a caravan to Planned Parenthood on John Ryan Road. The Planned Parenthood does not perform abortions at this times, and is not always open, however, our presence with show the community that something is going here that is not right. This Planned Parenthood does refer women to Dallas for their abortions. We seek to defend the unborn until we have secured their right to life, protected in law. Every time we pray in front of an abortion mill we are proclaiming the Gospel of life in a public square. We are also, prayerfully, making an abortionist concerned of us and accountable to God July 27th - Sunday KC Blood Drive. At KC Hall after Sunday Morning Masses. We will need volunteers after Masses for the two Saturday and Sundays prior to the drive to sign up parishioners to give blood on July 27th. Please consider giving blood you can have a profound effect on a person's life.

July 28th - Monday Religious Appreciation Dinner: Where - St. Vincent DePaul Parish in Arlington Be sure to invite and purchase tickets for the Clergy and Religious of your parish(s). This dinner is to honor them. Cost - $25.00 per Ticket Ticket Sale Cut Off Date July 15th This and all ticket sales as well as items purchased at the auctions go towards your council's charity goal. They are also still looking for Silent and Live Auction Items. God is a friend of silence - we need to listen to God because it's not what we say but what He says to us and through us that matters.
