Memorial Day Thanks to everyone who attended the fell out for the Memorial Day Mass at Assumption Chapel. And a virtual pat on the back to those Sir Knights who also signed in. The sign-in sheet lists 43 participants (including some I added at the bottom plus two ladies?). We had 22 Knights from Assembly 1099 which means that we outnumbered the rest of the other assemblies (and those two ladies) combined. It was gratifying to see the number of family members of the fallen at the Mass. We had eight families of the eleven fallen Sir Knights in represented at the Memorial Day Mass. I think that they appreciated the attention that we gave honoring our Sir knights and their loved ones. Their gratitude came through at the reception where they got to hold the chalice and see the names on the bottom. Thanks also to Faithful Admiral Kevin Russell and Trustee Roger Ibarra for doing the lion s share of coordination for the event, including the reception following. Continued on Page 3

Traditional marriage is redefined by the courts and family values are openly challenged in the media. Christians and people of good will are praying and working faithfully for a crucial change in direction. Join the Austin Chapter Knights of Columbus for the Annual Mass for Families celebrating the family and praying for God s protection of the essential unit of our human society. This special Mass and reception will be held at St Albert the Great in Austin on Saturday June 30th at 10:00 AM. Join us for this powerful event. While there will be a fallout for the event, it s important to remember that this is intended for all Catholic families, not just Knights of Columbus. Please have your whole family attend the event with you and encourage other parishioners from your church to attend.
