Alta, Wyoming 83414 307-353-8100 sftetons@silverstar.com stfrancis.episcopalidaho.org On Aug. 4 th Worship Leader training will be in Idaho Falls, I will be going and need volunteers to undertake a new challenge. I am offering transportation and lunch will be provided. We are leaving Saint Frances church at 8:00 am, returning in late afternoon. This is an opportunity to learn about worship service and no experience is needed. Training will be provided by Canon Lucinda Ashby. August is here with the annual yard sale and there are a lot of really great donations. Mark your calendar for August 11th. We are looking to make this the biggest event in St. Francis history. There is still time to bring donations, as well as sorting and staffing the event. We have a few large ticket items like a clothes dryer and a vintage Juke Box. If you know anyone that could use them, please make a special invitation to anyone that enjoys yard sales. On August 24th the Tin Cup awards will be handed out at the Wildwood Room between 6:00-8:00. This award ceremony is the icing on the cake for another great year of fundraising to help nonprofit s in our community. Please come and enjoy this fellowship with our neighbors. Summer is short in our valley. I hope everyone is taking advantage of the activities and glorious opportunities that we have in Teton Valley. God bless and see you at church. Rod Gust

Tin Cup Wrap Up 2018 The 2018 Tin Cup Fundraiser continues to be a part of our St. Francis history. This year the event had a good turn out despite the cool weather and brief rain showers. Tin Cup had many participants, ranging from the volunteers who worked the booth, the runners who participated in the race and of course, the kids who loved our dart throw game and the candy we gave away as prizes. The St. Francis sponsored Girl Scout troop helped to manage the dart throwers this year. The McMillan girls closed the booth down at the end of the day by finishing off the rest of the balloons that there were to pop. This year's venue in the City Park was more accommodating than the previous years, that were held on Main Street. Traffic control was easier for law enforcement and was also easier to have the event just a block off the highway. This year the final awards will be dispersed at the Wildwood Room in Victor on August 24th. Please come and enjoy all the festive fellowship with our neighbors that share the common interest of helping our community. Photo by Swope s Mountain Photography A special thanks to our St. Francis volunteers and all who helped keep this St. Francis tradition of community outreach alive and well. Bishop s Retreat-God or Knot? Bishop Brian will be sponsoring a retreat the running from October 5 through 7th at The Monastery of the Ascension in Jerome, Idaho. Inspired by a chapter from Anne Lamott s book, Plan B: Further Thoughts on Faith, you are invited to join Bishop Brian at the Monastery of the Ascension for a weekend of reflection and discernment around the Sunday School Takes a Break For Summer knotted places of our lives and faith. There will be goodly rest and fellowship as well. Watch for registration details after July 16th. The St. Francis Sunday School program will take a break for the months of July and August. Sunday School will resume again in September. Watch the September newsletter for more information. Sunday School teachers are always needed, if you have a gift working with children we would love your help!

St. Francis Approved Vestry Minutes June 12, 2018 The meeting was called to order at 5:00 so that we could all attend the gathering for Kristine Ciensinski Minutes were approved for May meeting An opening prayer was offered by Rod V E S T R Jim Steele reported on Tin Cup, all is going well with donations by 7/27/18. We still need sign-ups for time and candy. Announcements need to start every Sunday to encourage donations. Ruth Lindstedt reported on worship committee with a focus on keeping the music familiar to the congregation. Musicians will have a spread sheet showing hymns that have been used on each Sunday of the year to help with picking music we all know. Rod reported on Buildings and grounds. The ramp project is still in the design phase. He met with Bruce Hawtin (architect) to discuss, billing history and need for permit ready drawings. We will be looking for progress on both issues shortly. There was a discussion on photo credits for the newsletter, and it was agreed that credits were in order. However when photos come from archives it may not always be possible to remember who to give credit. It was the consensus to give credit where and when possible. Ruth explained the financials. There were some questions about the quick books system that she will ask the diocese about so we have a better understanding. Financials were approved. Jim Steele gave the closing prayer. Meeting was adjourned at 6:00 Y
