Parks-Piatt Offertory The First Nowell Mack Willberg The first Nowell the angel did say was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay, In fields where they lay keeping their sheep on a cold winter s night that was so deep. Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Nowell! Born is the King of Israel. They looked up and saw a star shining in the East beyond them far, And to the earth it gave great light, and so it continued both day and night. Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Nowell! Born is the King of Israel. Then let us all with one accord sing praises to our heavenly Lord That hath made heaven and earth of nought, and with his blood our life hath bought. Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Nowell! Born is the King of Israel. SACRAMENT OF HOLY COMMUNION Rev. Rogers Rev. All: We lift them up to the Lord. One: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. All: It is right to give our thanks and praise.

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Words of Institution Communion of the People All communion cups contain only non-alcoholic grape juice. Each person in turn will light the candle of the next worshiper. Remember to keep the lighted candle upright when sharing the light. Please remain seated. Carol Sing Please remain seated. Joy to the world! the Lord is come: Let earth receive her king; Let every heart prepare Him room, And heaven and nature sing... Joy to the world! the Savior reigns; Let us our songs employ; While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains Repeat the sounding joy... Angels we have heard on high, sweetly singing through the plains, And the mountains in reply echoing their joyous strains. Gloria in excelsis Deo! Gloria in excelsis Deo! Away in a manger, no crib for His bed, The little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head. The stars in the sky looked down where He lay, The little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay.

It came upon the midnight clear, that glorious song of old, From angels bending near the earth, to touch their harps of gold: Peace on the earth, good will to all, from heaven s all-gracious King : The world in solemn stillness lay, to hear the angels sing. Silent night, holy night! All is calm, all is bright, Round yon virgin mother and child! Holy infant so tender and mild, Sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace. Silent night, holy night! Shepherds quake at the sight, Glories stream from heaven afar, Heavenly hosts sing: Alleluia; Christ the Savior is born, Christ the Savior is born. Silent night, holy night! Son of God, love s pure light Radiant beams from Thy holy face, With the dawn of redeeming grace, Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth, Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth. Silent night, holy night! Wondrous star, lend thy light; With the angels let us sing, Alleluia to our King; Christ the Savior is born, Christ the Savior is born. BENEDICTION Please extinguish your candle after receiving the benediction. Carry the light of the Christ child in your hearts as Christmas morning breaks, and know the blessing of Emmanuel, God with us. CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE Christ the Savior is born!
