M onthly Mission in Motion October New Directions transitional program (formerly Center for Women and Children ) is a program serving families in crisis. It is a safe shelter for women and children providing counseling, legal advocacy and 24 hour crisis intervention. All paper products: Toilet paper Napkins Paper towels Paper plates Trash Bags: tall kitchen Laundry Detergent Pampers (sizes 4 & 5) Cleaning Supplies Monetary Donations We have the Community Kitchen, November 12-16 Needing volunteers Breakfast 7-10 am and Lunch 10-1pm. Boy Scout Troop 801 needs some help Boy Scout Troop 801 is chartered and sponsored by First United Methodist Church of Myrtle Beach. We are looking for adults with scouting experience who would be interested in working with our troop, please contact Daniel Shuler at 843-626-2692. Volunteers for mucking out flooded homes The flood relief work that was originally scheduled for October 27 has been rescheduled for November 3. We will meet at a home that needs to be mucked out at 8:30 a.m. Following a brief training, we will then muck out the home. Lunch and water will be provided to volunteers. If you would like to help with this work, please contact Suzanne Gayton at suzanne.gayton@gmail.com so we can plan appropriately for food and the number of houses we are able to help that day. Up-Coming ERT (Emergency Response Team) Training ERT Basic & Renewal Class: Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 9-5 at Magnolia Restaurant and Conference Center located at 2605 Ocean Blvd. in Myrtle Beach. Contact is Rev. D. William H. Phillips either through the office of First UMC, Myrtle Beach, or at 843-315-4300. The ERT Basic Class is form 9-5. The fee is $40 per person. This includes a manual, shirt, cap and badge. There is a $10 fee for renewals. Lunch is extra.
