When he said above, "You have neither desired nor taken pleasure in sacrifices and offerings and burnt offerings and sin offerings" (these are offered according to the law), then he added, "See, I have come to do your will." He abolishes the first in order to establish the second. And it is by God's will that we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. PERINTON FOOD SHELF We are so thankful for the food drives that have been held so far and our shelves are getting restocked. In October we fed 178 people so we really appreciate everyone helping our community. We still need the following items: coffee, hot chocolate, bottled juice, sugar, jelly, ketchup, mustard, salad dressing, canned hash, canned chili, canned beef stew, canned sloppy joes/manwich, cereal, oatmeal, shampoo and facial tissues. GIFTS FOR A MEAL AND MORE St. Luke's collected many pairs of socks and scarves and a few other warm items for the A Meal and More Christmas Bags. Thank you to everyone who contributed items. NEIGHBORHOOD CHRISTMAS CAROLING This year St. Luke s held our 2nd annual Christmas Caroling event with the Neighborhood on December 16. We had very good participation from neighbors and parishoners. After the caroling, people came to St. Luke s for hot cocoa and cookies. Thank you to Mary Jo Hazelton and parishoners for providing the treats. This was a great way for us to build relationships with people in our neighborhood and to spread Christmas cheer! 1st ANNUAL MAC N CHILI FUNDRAISER Saturday, January 26 On Saturday, January 26 th at 5:00 pm our St Luke s Children and Youth groups are holding their 1st annual Mac N Chili Cook-Off fundraiser. A portion of the proceeds will go towards supplying new mattresses for the Thai boarding facility for girls in India. For a single admissions fee you will be able to sample all of our competitor s delicious Mac N Cheese and Chili recipes and vote for your favorite one! Who has the best recipe?!! Come taste and vote!! If you are interested in being a chef, please contact Gary and Suzanne Roscoe the_roscoes@yahoo.com or sign up on the signup sheet on the bulletin board at church by January 10 th. Tickets will be available at the 8 & 10am services shortly. We will also enable PayPal purchase on the St Luke s website, so stay tuned for details.
