(B/L/D) AFTERNOON VISIT BUDHANILKANTHA. SANGA TO VISIT LARGEST SHIVA STATUE IN THE WORLD Pashupatinath temple: One of the most sacred Hindu shrines in the world, Pashupatinath lies 5 Km east of the city center. The richly-ornamented pagoda houses the sacred linga, or phallic symbol, of Lord Shiva. Chronicle indicates the temple s existence prior to 400 AD. Devotees can be seen taking ritual dips in the holy Bagmati River flowing beside the temple, also a World heritage site. Budhanilkantha is situated below Shivapuri hill at the northern end of the valley. It is about 9 Km from the city center. The hub of the temple complex is a pond in which lies a great stone figure of the hindu god Bishnu reclining on the coils of a cosmic serpent. It is also known as Bhuijasi. SANGA - TALLEST SHIVA STATUE: The statue of Shiva located at Sanga is 108ft. tall making it the tallest statue of Shiva in the world and lies on the way to Dhulikhel from Kathmandu. Shiva s vehicle lies in the front of Statue and statues of Parvati, Ganesh and Kumar is at the left corner. It extends in 75 ropanies of land and is engrossed with well maiontained garden and a series of 12 shiva lingams. DAY 03: DRIVE TO POKHARA /VISIT MANAKAMANA / EVENING BOATING IN PHEWA LAKE. (B/L/D) After breakfast drive to Pokhara which will take about 6 hours drive and is about 200 Km. Pokhara is a place of remarkable natural beauty. The serenity of Phewa Lake and the magnificence of the fish tail summit rising behind it create an ambiance of peace and magic. At an elevation lower than Kathmandu, it has much more tropical feel to it, a fact well appreciated by the beautiful diversity of
flowers which prosper in it s environ. Indeed, the valley surrounding Pokhara is home to thick forest, gushing rivers, emerald lakes and of course, the world famous views of the Himalayas. Manakamana: Manakamana is temple of Durga Bhawani (Hindu Goddess), situated in Gorkha District of Nepal. Manakamana means the wishes. It is believed that Goddess Manakaman fulfills the wishes of ones who worship her with pure heart. It is very true when someone wish something from the heart; it is fulfilled by the God. Manakamana temple is situated at about 1300 meters at a top of a hill surround by a small village community. It is about 9 Km north-east of the town of Mugling and at about 90 Km West from Kathmandu and East from Pokhara. DAY 04 : DRIVE TO JOMSOM / OVERNIGHT IN JOMSOM (7/8 hrs drive by 04 wheel jeep) (B/L/D) Jomsom lies at 2,700 meters above sea level, in an area that bridges the Himalayan foothills and the Tibetan Plateau. Jomsom is the main commerce and administrative center of Nepal's Mustang region. Featuring the only major airstrip north of the Himalayas, Jomsom serves as the entry and exit point for some of Nepal's most fantastic treks. Mustang is also famous for its apple orchards, sacred lakes, and Muktinath, one of Nepal's most revered religious pilgrimage sites. DAY 05: EARLY MORNING VISIT MUKTINATH / DRIVE BACK TO JOMSOM FOR LUNCH AND RETUREN TO POKHARA. (B/L/D) Muktinath is a sacred place both for Hindus and Buddhists located in Muktinath Valley at an altitude of 3,710 meters at the foot of the Thorong La mountain pass (part of the Himalayas), Mustang district, Nepal. The Hindus call the sacred place Mukti Kshetra, which literally means the "place of liberation or moksha". Mainly the temple is with a predominant Sri Vaishnava origin and worshipped by Buddhists. This temple is considered to be the 105th among the available 108 Divya Desam. The ancient name of this place, before Buddhist origin is known as Thiru Saligramam. This houses the Saligrama sila considered to be the naturally available form of Sriman Narayana - the Hindu God HEAD. It is also one of the 51 Sakthi peetams. The Buddhists call it Chumig Gyatsa, which in Tibetan means 'Hundred Waters'. For Tibetan Buddhists, Muktinath-Chumig Gyatsa is a very important place of Dakinis, goddesses known as Sky Dancers and one of the 24 Tantric places. They understand the murti to be a manifestation of Avalokitesvara. After lunch drive back to Pokhara, DAY 06 : DRIVE BACK TO KATHMANDU / VISIT SWOYAMBHUNATH STUPA. (B/L/D) After breakfast drive back to kathmandu. Swoyambhunath Stupa: Watches over the valley from the top of a hillock on its western side, the stupa is one of the holiest Buddhist sites in Nepal and its establishment is linked to the creation of the Kathmandu Valley out of a primordial lake. Swoyambhu is also known as Sengu and is listed as a World heritage site.
DAY 07 : MORNING DRIVE TO VISIT KATHMANDU CITY & FREE TIME AROUND THAMEL FOR SHOPPING / TRANSFER TO AIRPORT (B/L/D) Kathmandu City Durbar Square: Complex of palaces, courtyards and temples, built between the 12 th and 18 th centuries, used to be the seat of the ancient Malla kings of Kathmandu. An intriguing piece here is the 17 th century stone inscription set into the wall of the palace with writings in 15 languages. The Durbar Square, protected as a UNESCO world heritage site, is the social, religious and urban focal point of the city. There are also museums inside the palace building. There is also a temple of the only LIVING GODDESS KUMARI. THAMEL: As the tourist district of Kathmandu, Thamel bustles with activity late into the night. It is a mere10-minute walk from the center of Kathmandu, yet completely different from the rest of the city. Thamel caters entirely to tourists with its scores of hotels, rows of restaurants and bars, book shops, inviting souvenir shops, cyber cafes and travel agencies. All that a tourist needs can be found here, even friends and traveling companions. After early dinner transfer to airport for departure.
