Shoemaker attended a press conference on August 16 to celebrate that the International African American Museum in Family Tea Time A Family Tea Time, hosted by Youth Christian Education will be held on September 9. Charleston has raised the funds needed to begin construction on this important new institution in our city. We are proud that St. Stephen s was recognized as one of only two churches in the top giving bracket as charter members of the museum. In addition, parishioner Herbert Drayton III was publicly recognized by the International African American Museum President, Michael Moore, as having made the $125,000 gift that put the museum across the line for their fundraising goal.
