View this email in your browser Sanders Clyde Back to School Supply Drive UPDATE Thanks to all who have donated school supplies for Sanders-Clyde. 400 students at our partner school qualify for free/reduced school lunch. Your donations mean so very much to our children., so keep those school supplies coming! Simply bring them with you to church and place them in the Sanders Clyde basket in the back of the church. Thank you so very much for your ongoing generosity. For a list of needed supplies, click HERE. International African American Museum UPDATE Fr. Shoemaker attended a press conference on August 16 to celebrate that the International African American Museum in Family Tea Time A Family Tea Time, hosted by Youth Christian Education will be held on September 9. Please see the sign-up sheet located next to the bulletin board in the Stephen's Hall kitchen if you are interested in providing "children-friendly" foods! Adults favorites are welcome too! Charleston has raised the funds needed to begin construction on this important new institution in our city. We are proud that St. Stephen s was recognized as one of only two churches in the top giving bracket as charter members of the museum. In addition, parishioner Herbert Drayton III was publicly recognized by the International African American Museum President, Michael Moore, as having made the $125,000 gift that put the museum across the line for their fundraising goal. Way to go, Herbert! To view the article, click HERE. Blessing of the Backpacks St. Stephens Blessing of the Backpacks will be held during the 11am Eucharist on Sunday, September 9. Be sure to bring your child s backpack for Fr. Shoemaker s blessing. All ages are invited to participate. click HERE.
