PARISH NURSE HOURS Mondays 3:30 4:30 PM Let us celebrate the greatest Birthday of all! The eve of Jesus birth will be tomorrow. Celebrate life and rejoice! NO HANDSHAKING during the flu season. Elbows only! This will continue thru the winter season. WATER TO THRIVE Wells in Ethiopia Mission project. The cost of each well is $5,000. Funds for the 1st well was sent in August. Donations are currently at $3,275.26 toward a 2nd well. If you would like to contribute to this mission project, checks can be made out to Zion Lutheran Church. Please designate funds for Water to Thrive on the memo line. THE EVANGELISM /LAY MINISTRY BOARD is seeking volunteers to bring home communion to shut-ins on Communion Sundays. This is a very simple yet wonderful way to serve our fellow members of our congregation. Please contact the church office or Marijo Nabben at 686-4277 if interested. If you are in need or know someone in need of, or would like home communion, please contact the church office. END OF YEAR DONATIONS: Any donation received after December 31, will be credited to 2019 giving. Any donations mailed that are not received before January 1st will be credited to 2019 giving. ANNUAL REPORTS: Please turn in by January 11, 2019 typed and ready to print. 2019 OFFERING ENVELOPES, SHARING SERVANT BOOKLETS AND ZION WOMEN BOOKLETS are available to pick up on the table in the narthex. Please take a minute to pick them up. Those enrolled with Vanco Giving do not receive boxed envelopes. REMINDER Poinsettias shared for Christmas Eve may be picked up following the 10PM service, if you wish to take yours home.

MINISTRY NEEDS Attendance Sunday, Dec. 16: 145 Weekly offering/simply Giving for week of Dec 10-Dec 16: $12,686. Envelope/Simply Giving Income from January 1 Dec. 16: $363,285. 2018 Budget $422,168. ($8,118 needed per week to meet expenses) Pledge Cards received to date: 80 Last Year : 101 GIVEHUB KIOSK is available in the narthex for credit/debit card contributions. You can set up an account with a log-in or choose a one-time donation without creating an account. A receipt will be emailed to you, if you provide an address. Giving through the kiosk is recorded on your annual giving statement. ELECTRONIC SIGN Current donations/pledges: $6,190. The approximate cost is $37,000. The properties board and the PPC will proceed with the sign if 80% of the cost is raised before the project is started. Donations or pledges toward this project are appreciated. VANCO electronic funds transfer forms are available in the church office and on the desk outside the office, for those interested in automated giving. Use as needed to let the pastors or office know of any items/ concerns/ address /phone changes etc.. Please leave in the offering plate or the office drop box. BROADCAST SPONSORSHIP sign up is located on the wall next to the office door. Cost is $100 for entire broadcast; $50 for half. The 2019 Broadcast sheet is now available. Contact Amber to sign up COMMUNITY/AREA EVENTS STAY ACTIVE AND INDEPENDENT FOR LIFE (SAIL) Offered by the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) This is a FREE class for seniors. You will improve balance, feel stronger, remain independent, & have more energy. This is a 1 hour class 2x per week. You can stand or sit, weights are provided at no cost. Registration is required. Contact Tammy or Jennifer at RSVP or the RRV at 218-281- 8289 to sign up. HOSPICE OF THE RED RIVER VALLEY welcomes individuals to join its volunteer team as companionship volunteers. RSVP HANDY MAN SERVICE Trained volunteers enable seniors to maintain their independence and safety by providing minor home maintenance repairs such as replace batteries, lightbulbs, install grab bars or smoke detectors, weatherization projects, etc. with no charge. Materials or supplies are paid for by the client, scholarships are available for those in need. Call RSVP at 218-281-8288. HERITAGE COMMUNITY CENTER first Monday of the Month fundraiser supper, 5-6 PM. Minimum donation $7; proceeds to running the Center. Open to all ages.
