The funds we raise are to help fly the students to Platte, South Dakota for serve as well as help pay for a rental van while there. Tonight at 7pm ALPHA: As we continue to plan for the fall session, we are looking for someone to be the food coordinator. This is quite a fun job, and Suzan Winch can give you a terrific job description if you are considering taking this on. We are also looking for a male person to join as a group helper and potential leader. Please prayerfully consider if God is calling you to use your talents for Alpha this year. Thanks so much. MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES UPDATE FROM THE NORTH OSHAWA MINISTRY TEAM: Following its approval by Classis, the Ministry Team has been meeting regularly, seeking God's guidance to make His presence known on and around the UOIT/Durham College campus in North Oshawa. Zion CRC in Oshawa will be an official partner of this new ministry. A Selection Team has formed to move forward with hiring a new Ministry Leader. Please pray for the Team at this exciting time. This will be followed by Lot Sunday on May 11 th. On that day, leaders will be chosen as follows: 2 Deacons, 2 Council Elders and 3 Pastoral Elders. Anyone not present and desiring to take part in the affirmation vote, please see a Council Elder to do this. Emma Brouwer, Hiddy Kooger, Brian Lindsay, Andrew McDermott, John & Femmie Feddema, and Bas & Linda van Andel are completing their terms of service. DISABILITY CONCERNS SPRING CONFERENCE You still have time to register for this Saturday s conference (May 3 rd ) Turning Care Upside Down Strategies for Cultivating Deep Welcome at the Perkins Centre in Hamilton. Disability Concerns Canada has planned this conference for church leadership, disability advocates, people affected by disabilities, and everybody who wants to support folks with disabilities and their families. Workshops will provide practical ideas for ministry with people who have long-term needs. Pray for the Life Team as it is in the process of organizing for small groups at Hope Church. Pray for the ALPHA leaders and participants who continue to meet faithfully each week. Also pray that God may show you specific things you can do to make new people feel welcome at Hope and become fully part of our community. Pray as the Delta Team meets to find new ways that we can serve God in our community and the world. Pray for Jonathan and Janice Barnhoorn and their kids Stephen, Silas, Samuel and Esther.
