Page 6 Trinity Tidings SUNDAY SCHOOL MISSION PROJECT It is Time for OCC! This has been Trinity s 10 th year participating in Operation Christmas Child shoe box service project! Thank you for your generosity! These small shoe boxes give children a much bigger gift: HOPE. When each child receives a box they are given a storybook, in their own language, which shares the message of salvation. The impact of boxes for 10-14 year old boys can be especially important, in some countries. That is the age when terrorist organizations start to recruit young men to join their cause. Through these boxes, these teenage boys receive hope that there is a God that loves them and that they have a purpose in His kingdom. Through the 10 years of doing this service project it has given our congregation more of a servant s heart. Our children see that they have the gift of time, hope and love to offer others around the globe. They know, at a young age, that their service to others has an impact that is bigger than a box. Pack in the gym at 8:45 on November 4 th SEVERAL WAYS TO HELP YOU CAN: Pack a shoe box Bring items to contribute Help pay shipping costs, ($9 per box) Pray for those giving, pray for those receiving, pray for this ministry! Help pack boxes on November 4 th Trinity Adults Nurturing Gathering Obeying TANGO will be hosted by Scott & Stephanie Peterson at 6:00 on November 16th at 4020 Potosi Road, Pensacola. ALL are WELCOME! Bring an appetizer or dessert and your favorite beverage. RSVP on the TANGO Facebook page or to Stephanie at 850-261-3951. Page 7 Trinity Tidings TRINITY KIDS CONNECTION: We will not have a TKC event in November due to the Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving holidays. Information about a December fellowship activity will be forthcoming. Update on building project with Ministry Architects: As with any remodel or new build, things go along smoothly and we are lulled into optimism and confidence that all is well. Then, there is a snag the interpretation of the plans isn t viewed quite the same by the builders and the owners. So it is necessary to review where both parties want and need to be; making necessary adjustments and then continuing together toward the goal of the project. After the input from all who attended the Summit in August where values and goals were identified (thank you to everyone who invested in this process), the RENO team felt that the results compiled by MA needed clarification and expansion to clearly state who Trinity is and where we want to go. So the team has been meeting weekly to do just that. I believe our blueprint of core values and goals now express what was shared at the Summit and the heart of Trinity. They will be shared with the Session for approval soon. We will be meeting with MA via teleconference on Oct. 1 st and expect their assistance in moving forward on implementing the next phase of our renovation. To all parents, families and Youth/Children volunteers SAVE THIS DATE: November 6, 7, and 8.MA will be here for the Youth/Children s Visioning Summit and your input is needed. Please continue to pray for the RENO team and the Ministry Architects all that we do is to bring glory to God through our service and love for one another. Eileen Mignerey Toys for Tots 2018 Toys for Tots is a program run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy gifts for Christmas. The program was founded in 1947 and has collected millions of toys for disadvantaged children. Trinity Service Team has once again partnered with the Marines for the 2018 Christmas season and will be collecting new, unwrapped toys in a collection box located in the narthex. Contributions will be accepted from 5 November thru 14 December. Gifts are requested for infants thru the teen age years. Thank YOU!!

Page 8 Trinity Tidings UPDATE - Ministry Architects Renovation Team Pat Patterson PROGRESS NOTE: We have shifted from diagnosis and planning phase to implementation phase. Ministry Architects has begun to provide detailed game plans/action steps for accomplishment of the goals the Session adopted at the September meeting; the Reno Team has begun to implement these plans. The Action Plan for Small Group Development has been received. The timely Action Plan for the worship and music program is next because of the change in music leadership at the end of the year. IMPORTANT DATES Children and Youth Summit November 6-8 ACTIVE INITIATIVES Website and Church Management Software Leah McCreary, Hugh Hamilton The new church membership, finances, facilities database and communications system is now active; the staff is being trained in operations, the system will be launched next for Session and group leaders for their training and operations, then the system will be launched to the congregation. We learning to use the system to track participation of visitors and members, to communicate more freely, to facilitate the church calendar of events and facilities, to allow online registration and payments for activities. The new Trinity website is operational and will be unveiled shortly. We will offer multiple times and venues to train members in groups and one-on-one in how to use our new systems. Online giving and payments program has been launched in trial mode to a limited audience successful operations thus far suggest successful integration with our new database software; we will launch at first of the year for congregation wide use. Children s Ministry Eileen Mignerey, Brian Yount Stephen Ingraham (Ministry Architects) and Brian have planned the Children and Youth Summit for 11/6-8; invitations have been sent to parents of children, youth, and volunteers. A volunteer recruitment training session will be conducted with Stephen; this can be shared with other teams. The listening sessions on 11/6 for the summit are scheduled as follows: Parents of children- 4:00-4:45pm Youth - 5:00-5:45 Parents of youth 6:00-6:45 Youth volunteers - 7:00-7:45 Work is in progress to insure all volunteers in children and youth ministry have completed background checks and trained in the church s child protection policy.

Page 9 Trinity Tidings Session Team Restructuring Hugh Hamilton, Jack Lurton A proposed restructuring of the Session Teams was approved by the Session in September, implementation is ongoing and will be finalized April 2019 with the next group of elected elders. There will be 7 elders per class. Job descriptions for all volunteer positions on all teams are completed and will be accessible on the website and church communication system. Session Manual of Operations edits and updates continue. Facilities Use Policy Pat Patterson The policy is being edited and updated for approval by the Facilities Team.
