Everyone is invited to attend if you choose to. Our Mothers Day dinner was a great success! Thanks to all who helped. As usual, the Lodge is doing great, membership is growing; we had seven new members sworn in last month. I d like to say welcome to our new family. Also, I d just like to remind everyone we can always use your help in volunteering in the kitchen and at any events that we are having. Just look in the bulletin to see what is going on; there are plenty of things happening at our Lodge at any given time. I would also like to remind everyone that school is letting out for summer so please keep an eye out while our children are up and about when driving. Okay, let s all be safe this summer while on vacation and let s all stop by the Lodge and have a meal and tell us about your trip and have some fun! PAGE 6 ESSEX ELKS NEWS I Will Always Wave VOLUME 50 NO. 6 I have been carried through many horrific battles. I have been mirrored through many dying eyes. I have been torn, tattered and burned. And I have kissed many far-off skies. My colors will never be taken away For I was made every stitch with love. My stars and stripes will always remain An inspiration to those who see me flying above. No man can bar me from the minds of prisoners. No court can remove me from the heart of freedom s vast call. No other banner will ever replace me. No other nation will ever possess me, no matter what befalls. For I belong to the People of these United States of America. I have flown over this Nation for centuries as I ve waved free and tall. Every man, woman, girl and boy can salute me and be proud. For I ve defended you one and all. I am the flag that will always stand for freedom. I am the cloth sewn by blessed hands. I am the colors that other nations fear, yet depend on. I am the American Flag, and I will protect my sovereign land.
