God Is Deeply In Love With Us! Therefore, let us go forth and make disciples. Holy Spirit Catholic Community connections holyspirit-parish.org Holy Spirit Catholic Community Our Stewardship Ministry Guide All Are Welcome! Updated November 2017

As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God s varied grace. (1 Peter 4:10) Dear People of Holy Spirit, In this Ministry Guide, you will find: 1. A description of our ministries and ways you can get involved 2. Stewardship Pledge Card (Page 12) ** Please return by December 1, 2017 to eliminate any unnecessary follow-up correspondence. This is an invitation to Catholic Stewardship. This is a call to renew your discipleship by living the Eucharist through Prayer (a relationship with God), Serving (others) and Sharing (our resources). Stewardship is living out a commitment to be Christ-centered rather than self-centered. Profound gratitude, justice, and love become the fundamental motives for giving back to God. This is a call to trust in God. This is a call to listen to the voice of the Spirit speaking of gratitude and responsibility. Our Mission - With gratitude, we reach out with loving compassion by serving, guiding, and celebrating sacraments and giving witness to the kingdom of God. Many of us have made the conversion to Stewardship as a way of life. Therefore, we do see the need to help our neighbors through the enclosed ministries. If you re not ready to share a percentage of your earnings or if you are not able due to life circumstances we ask you to pray and volunteer with our ministries. We know you will see the need to share too. This is your call to Catch the Spirit! Know that no matter what your choice may be, we as church are here for you always! The annual Stewardship campaign encompasses the whole parish. A portion of what you give goes to all aspects of the parish: administration, faith formation, pastoral care, school, youth ministry, and worship. Feel free to give more when specific ministries have campaigns and goals that go beyond the parish budget. Thank you, No matter where your heart is at this time, please return by December 1, 2017 to eliminate any unnecessary follow up correspondence. The Stewardship Committee > Stewardship gifts apply to January-December 2018 > If you have questions, feel free to contact Patty at the parish office (788-7640) Stewardship is a wonderful model of holiness as we are called to share our time, talent, and treasure through prayer, service, and sharing of all the gifts we have been given. (Bishop David Ricken) 2 Ministry Guide

What Is Catholic Stewardship? It is not simply making donations or taking care of the building and grounds. It is spirituality, a way of life made of four parts: Receiving the gifts of God with gratitude Cultivating them responsibly Sharing them lovingly in justice with others Standing before the Lord in a spirit of accountability What are my Gifts of God? Think in broader terms, not simply the material goods or security you may enjoy. These are gifts too: Your faith, hope, love and joy Your family love and relationships with others Your intelligence, talents and skills Your imagination, compassion and vision Creation in all its splendor What Does a Catholic Steward Look Like? Catholic stewards take care of the world around us, including embracing the social teaching of the Church. We partner with God in the redemption of the world We respect human life and dignity We protect the natural environment We share our gifts with others We communicate our enthusiasm The Challenges and Rewards of Stewardship It is an incredible challenge to live in imitation of the life of Christ. We all face obstacles, opportunities and challenges, living in a fast-paced environment with many responsibilities. However, a clear sense of purpose, nourished by the Eucharist and our rich Catholic tradition, opens the door for us to actively commit to a life of gratitude and responsibility; to thank God for His endless gifts, and then to decide what we can do to help the world. The rewards include: Making a difference in people's lives Becoming an active member of a Catholic community Discovering talents inside you, waiting to be used 11 Ministry Guide

(Genesis 28:20-22) A Stewardship Prayer Almighty and ever-faithful Lord, gratefully acknowledging Your mercy and humbly admitting our need, we pledge our trust in You and each other. Filled with desire, we respond to Your call for discipleship by shaping our lives in imitation of Christ. We profess that the call requires us to be stewards of Your gifts. As stewards, we receive Your gifts gratefully, cherish and tend them in a responsible manner, share them in practice and love with others, and return them with increase to the Lord. We pledge to our ongoing formation as stewards and our responsibility to call others to that same endeavor.
