And that is what we are! Mission Statement St. Peter's Lutheran School follows Christ's command to Feed My Lambs through a challenging and well-rounded education centered on God's Word. Golden Apple Award Indiana's NewsCenter is celebrating a dynamic and exciting program to bring recognition to your school. It is called The Golden Apple Award. It is designed to show how teachers are changing young people for the better every day. Indiana's NewsCenter is looking for nominations from students in the form of a short letter (no more than 100 words) about your favorite teacher and why you feel they should be the recipient of the monthly Golden Apple Award. The purpose of this award is to reward outstanding teachers and schools that allow teachers to flourish. An outstanding letter will be selected every month, and Indiana's NewsCenter will visit the school with a very simple award ceremony. The teacher being recognized and your school will be featured on two Indiana's NewsCenter newscasts in a very positive light that illustrates the good work being done in education today. Send your letters of nomination to: Complete online nomination form at: Golden Apple Award Post Office Box 2121 Fort Wayne, IN 46801-2121 www.incnow.tv (Click on Features, then Golden Apple link) Children of God - Chapel Offerings In This Issue Mission Statement The chapel offerings for the year are designated to support Lutheran World Relief and Human Care of the Lutheran

Our current outreach is Joplin, MO to those suffering the aftermath of a devastating EF5 tornado that occurred on Sunday, May 22, 2011. As of September 14, 2011, we have raised $216.69. Thank you for your generous support! Children of God Daily Servant Award The Children of God Daily Servant Award is given to a student who was observed doing something kind and encouraging for someone else. These students are recognized through the daily announcements and are presented with a gift at chapel on the following week. Students may be nominated by fellow students, teachers, or others who have observed this encouraging behavior. Car Line Safety We are looking at options to improve the safety of car line. In the meantime, we will have someone in front to help with drop off. You can help us the most by being vigilant when you drop off or pick up your children. During car line, do not park near the Clubhouse entrance and walk your children in and then try to back out into car line. Park at the church and walk your children over at the light and to the FRONT entrance. NOTE: If there are cars already lined up in the church parking lot, please remember to go to the end of the line. Be considerate! PS: Pastor's Sermon Pastor Heath Trampe is preaching this coming weekend. His sermon is titled "God's Undeserved Grace." Please take some time to prepare for worship by reading the Bible passages before attending church. The scripture readings will be: Isaiah 55:6-9; Philippians 1:1-12-14, 19-30; Matthew 20:1-16. Please take some time to fill it out and send it back to school. The PTL Board is hard at work to finalize plans and details for events throughout the year and it takes all of our families at St. Peter's to donate their time and abilities to help pull it off! We are still looking for committee members for several of our events. Thank you in advance for your dedication and support! CARNIVAL TIME... BE SURE TO MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 25TH! Wow...a little rain wasn't enough to keep the crowd away, in fact, the crowd scared the rain away! It was a perfect evening...rain during a fabulous meal and a clear sky, a glowing bonfire and some amazing music to end the evening. Thanks again to the Nahrwolds, Bradtmuellers, and the Fullers for all of your hard work. It was a much needed night of fellowship and some amazing HOG! It was great to see so many church and school families together enjoying the scrumptious spread and just some good old fun. No Make-up Necessary!!!
